"Where are you going?" Vaughn got alarmed when I started walking.Although confused, he still followed me with the fairy on his side.
"That white horse is interesting," I said.
His eyes wandered around to know what I'm pertaining. He sighed when he found it.
"I though you despise white color?"
"This time, no."
He didn't buy it. He closed our gap and started to be attentive. I got annoyed when his eyes never left mine as if I'm someone needing a fvcking attention.
"You're annoying." I distanced myself to him while he was still watching my every move. Heck. I know that attitude. He thinks I'm gonna fvcking throw a tantrum just because I saw a fvcking white horse.... which I, yes, hated. But that's not the reason, okay!
"Lucien!"
My step halted to glare at Vaughn .
"What the fvck?" I mouthed. He realized then what he had done. Stupid mofo. Who is he calling Lucien.
He bit his lip and tried to equal my footsteps. Freyja was following him like a lost kid, still watching the crowded center as if it's her first time to see this whole damn scenario. Well, I understand that she's probably isolated on that forest.
I continued walking past the people who probably heard Vaughn's shout. Good thing that none of them seemed to know who's Lucien. If they knew, I would slit Vaughn's throat in an instant and cruelly pull his tongue out.
While nearing to that carriage, I saw some people flocking around it. I thought the woman inside will somehow entertain them because of how annoyingly they were knocking on the body of the carriage. To my surprise, she never tried to open the window anymore. From here, her silhouette was the only thing I could take a glimpse.
"Fvcking assholes! Hey! Move!" The coachmen shooed the people away from their carriage. It was filled with people crossing to go towards the stores on their side.
"Berries! Sweet berries, sir!" The lady who also offered us awhile ago extended her arms to the coachmen but he shove the basket full of berries violently. It rolled on the dirty streets while some got tramped by heavy footsteps echoing here and there.
"Shoo! I do not need that crap!"
My eyebrows furrowed as the lady knelt down immediately to pick the berries.
"Tsk. There he is again," someone said. I glanced at the man beside me. He was shaking his head.
"That man never missed the chance to ruin something on this street, huh." After that, he walked towards the opposite way. I even saw how he glared the carriage before leaving, and it made me think that he must have known that man for him to be that irritated as if that man's a nuisance.
My eyes followed his back until he disappeared into the messy street.
"Freyja." I realized now that I should've asked for her name instead of addressing her informally.
"Do you recognize that carriage?"
She scrutinized it first before shaking her head slowly.
I sighed hard and graze my tongue to my lower lip.
"It's kinda suspicious."
"Suspicious?" Vaughn echoed.
"There's someone inside, probably a woman. She's wearing a cloak even when she's inside. That's something we should check."
