“Lucien.” I was walking into this dark alley, on my way to the abandoned castle that was featured on the newspapers with a headline 'The Cursed Castle of Rivalde' , when someone called my name in a trembling voice.

I turned to that person, ready to set him on fire for calling my name so naturally. But my evil thoughts stopped when I recognized his face.

My hands retreated on its own. It's as if it knew that the person in front of me is not one of my enemies who want me dead.

“Why are you here?” I asked coldly. But then I saw how he slightly convulsed as he panted and groaned in pain. His hands were on his stomach, gripping it. I can see his veins protruding on his neck clearly in this dark alley.

Even though he didn't say anything, just seeing the light flicker inside his stomach, convinced me that he was captured by knights.

“Ugh.” My eyes boredly watch him groan in pain while he's on his knees.

What a mess.

Why is he here anyway? Don't tell me he's here to ask for my help like a miserable idiot?

I don't save someone suffering in his own stupid mess. Especially when you are stupid enough to get yourself in trouble even when you're powerless to defend yourself.

“You've gone wild,” I said. He was writhing in pain and kneeling. I couldn't care less even if he cries for help.

His eyes lifted to mine and gritted his teeth in anger.

“The knights captured me. That traitor Marceline framed up me! He told his fvcking emperor about me! I was not plotting an assassination to the emperor! Bullshit. I'm not an idiot to commit treason when I'm not in my own territory,” he ranted with so much anger. Hearing Marceline's name in his story made me amused a bit.

I stayed in my position while he was waiting for my response to his pity play.

“And? What do you want me to do, then?” I made sure that I was interested even though I was itching to raise him an eyebrow.

His eyes darkened as he smiled evilly. “Make that traitor beg for my mercy. I don't want him dead yet. Just wait till my wounds are healed and you will bring him to me.”

“And? How long will it take you to heal that thing?” My eyes darted to that thing that is flickering inside his stomach.

“T-This?” He looked at me bothered and scared. “I-I don't know. The wench did this to me when I was asleep!”

Wench. Perhaps, he's pertaining to Miranda—the emperor's mistress who is the mother of all fairies.

If he is inflicted by Miranda's power, that only means that he really is in danger. Miranda is only a mistress. She was never involved into the Palace's matter, except if it's about her clan. Knowing the emperor's obsession to vampires, he would never let his mistress—or even his wife to touch what's his.

So today is really a first. That flickering light inside his stomach is a pixie dust of Miranda which can kill if it's not extracted from the body immediately.

I can guess that they purposely let this pit bull go because he will die anyway. Well, I don't give a damn about him too. I was never been in good  connection to him so to be killed by that annoying pixie dust is out of my concerns.

“Hmm.” I touched my jaw to pretend that I'm thinking about ways to help him.

I smirked when a thought crossed my mind. He's desperate so he will never doubt what's behind my suggestion.
