RAI'S POV

When you become successful, there is a certain person or people that you are obliged to express gratitude towards.
Which is why I was planning this event for my mum.

"Make sure all the designers are ready," I ordered as I ticked off things on my clipboard.

Believe or not, my mother had been my rock. She was there for me when I was in my highs and lows. If it weren't for her I wouldn't have made it to Alma.

The memories I had with her I would hold forever. She had always dreamed to become a designer but she were not able to afford to start a business.

She inspired me to become a fashion model, she was my role model and so at her late thirties, I wanted to make her a boss lady of her own brand of clothing.

I had been planning this for months. I bought a store in Spain and began renovations, then I hired other designers to help her around. I created for her a brand. All I wanted was to make her happy now that I had the chance.

It was one of my Christmas gifts for her.
I invited my aunt to help with the surprise.

"Hey mum now you can open your eyes, I said removing my hands from my mum's face.

We were standing in front of her store with the initials: A.P JONEZ which was her brand name.

"Oh, oh..." She trailed off and started tearing.
"Is this mine? Goodness dear you didn't have to." She said wiping a tear and giving me a hug.

"Oh I definitely had to, thankyou so much for all you've done for me and may more blessings keep coming your way." I said wrapping my hands around her waist, devouring her sweet scent. She smelled of lemon and ginger, she smelled of hope and and I did not want to leave her warmth.

"Ok now are you ready to see the inside?" I asked, not being able to contain my excitement anymore.

When we got in her facial expression was priceless, will definitely live in my memory forever.

I had used her favourite color palette all through the store. Dark blue and mustard curtains graced to ceiling high glass windows. The chairs were white and each tailor had their own work space.

The cloth racks were made of glass and already had a few clothes made by the tailors.

I had created a whole glass wall full of fabrics and design materials. We entered another room which was her office. It had the same touch of mustard, navy blue and white. The had made sure that the chair was the most comfortable.

We continued touring and opened another door which led to a runway. I had created a space where she could hold fashion shows for her newest designs. All this time, tears of joy could not stop rolling down her cheeks.

When we finished we went for ice cream and talked about old memories and how far we had come.

"Hunny, did you carry the flowers?" She asked as we made our way through the narrow path.

"Yes, I have them," I replied getting restless trying to catch up with her. She was always a fast walker no matter the situation.

The sun was setting and the golden rays pierced through the light blue fluffy clouds making the white flowers appear even more breathtaking. I was amazed by the butterflies, they were so beautiful and carefree.

It was a perfect evening to visit my dad's grave. We brought his favorite flowers which were dandelions. And mum and I sang his favorite songs and that evening all we did was smile.

"Hey mum I have another present for you," I said before jumping on the couch beside my mum.

"No, you have done enough and I won't accept anything more." She said starting to get concerned about how much I was spending on her.

"Oh you are definitely going to accept it because I bought you a house in Africa and now you can visit Kenya anytime you want because I also bought you your very own time capsule." I said jumping with excitement.

"So you are saying, that I can visit the wild animals anytime I want?" She asked slowly making sure that what I was saying was true.

"Yes that's exactly what I'm saying mama." I said before we both stood up and started dancing to non-existent melodies. Life was good and I was grateful for moments like this.

The following day we packed and went to Kenya. My mum was amazed, I was happy to see her happy. Just like I did the first time, she loved the culture of the Kenyan people.

She was even more excited when I took her to the palace to say visit princess Silantoi.

"Oh I did not know he was here," I said with a smile motioning to prince Kyle who was sitting on the couch in Silantoi's bedroom.

"Nice to see you too Estrella." He said before standing up and giving me a hug.

The four of us explored the kingdom before mum and I went back to Spain to start preparing for Christmas.

Decorating for Christmas was my favorite thing to do in the festive season aside from giving. This year we were lucky because we could afford a bigger Christmas tree and more decorations.

I managed to convince Siin put up a huge tree in each state of the kingdom square to give all the citizens a Christmas tree experience.

This year will surely turn out great. I thought as I closed my eyes for sleep that night.
