His head whirls around and his mouth opens but closes in a second again. His eyes blink but somehow the information his eyes observe does not arrive in his brain. He does not believe who is standing there behind him and apparently no one else in this room does too as everyone gasps.

»Granger?«

The name has left his mouth before he realizes it.

But the brunette is not reacting in his direction. »Stop this trial. Immediately.« Her voice is very calm but almost passive-aggressive, or at least very determined. As Draco looks at the judges again they are all very much surprised about the victim being suddenly present in this court.

»Miss Granger...I thought-«

»You think? Excuse my words, but if you had thought about this whole situation it would not be Draco who is sitting on this chair.« Everyone present in this room is able to feel her anger even though she appears still slightly weak which is not a big surprise as she was literally poisoned in a dosis that can easily and fastly kill a person.

The judge opens her mouth, completely speechless. Hermione steps forward and faces Alex Grayson with a clear disgusted expression in her eyes. »It was not Draco who poisoned me. He could not have done so, we were always together in the days and started to get along pretty well. It was Grayson who poisoned me.«

The shock in all faces grows and the blonde looks specifically at Alex who seems to have the biggest shock of all people here. Hermione trembles and the former Slytherin stands up. »Mister Malfoy, sit down.« He does not as he is told but keeps standing. »I will not sit down when Hermione is actually not well enough to stand here. She is trembling.«

It is hard for him to keep control over what he says. He does not realize that he called his roommate by her first name, eventually no one actually notices it, except Harry who is sitting at the side, but the black head keeps quiet. Unobtrusive he raises a corner of the mouth in a little way - again this is not noticeable - to his luck because it is weird seeing someone smiling in court.

Draco does not move even though he wants to. He is scared to be arrested or anything similar. Hermione turns around and looks at him. She gives him a weak smile. »I am okay, at least now, Draco.« It feels strange for both of them to have this sort of moment in this room. The situation between them has changed - it is undeniable, even for these two who like to deny obvious facts.

As she turns her head around again, the judge finally finds her voice back and clears her throat. »Miss Granger...As I have to admit I am surprised to see you in court today. The doctors have told us that you were strongly poisoned and that you would need a while to recover from this attack on you...how come that you are here?«

She really does sound surprised by the presence of the war hero and so is everyone else. »I have not recovered yet - not fully. But I recovered enough to say the truth. That Draco is not the guilty person you are searching for. I am glad I woke up today and that I asked the doctors about what happened. They told me Draco is accused of a murder attempt on me.«

The judge only nods and turns her head to her colleagues, all of them know instantly what she is suggesting and all of them, without an exception, nod as well. »Miss Granger, we would like to hear you as a witness. Please sit down where Mister Malfoy just sat.« The brunette as she is told and sits down. Before, Draco is pulled away by an auror - for security reasons and because no one of them can know what actually happened the day Granger fainted.

The trial continues as the former student at Hogwarts is asked to describe her experiences on the specific day she was met Alex in a café in London...
