A big room, filled with noon light. A big table stood in the center of it. By it, there sat 5 cookies. On one side, Pure Vanilla Cookie and Espresso Cookie. On the other, Vampire Cookie, Almond Cookie and, between the 2, Alchemist Cookie.
She woke up about a week ago. She still didn't feel too good, but she was able to sit and talk. Exactly what everyone in the room needed her to do.
In front of Espresso Cookie, there were a bunch of papers, stacked on top of each other.
He then spoke, interrupting the silence.
-'Alchemist Cookie, as you are aware, the crystal you've found has strong magical abilities.'
Alchemist Cookie nodded.
-'We are also aware of how it affects cookies, based off of your situation and the situation of the cookie that attacked Almond Cookie and Vampire Cookie. We are already aware that the crystal itself must've came from the Forbidden Forest. What we aren't aware of is the way it got into your hands. That's why we need you to explain what exactly happened. Do you understand?'
Alchemist nodded again. She expected this day to come ever since she woke up. Now it was finally time to tell the truth.
-'I was...'
She hesitated.
She looked at Almond Cookie, who was staring down at her. She felt a wave of anxiety hit her. She was yet to discover what punishment she'd get. She thought about lying, but she knew that it wouldn't get her far and that this information was very important. She took a deep breath as she looked at Espresso.
-'I was looking for resources for my new experiment...'
She paused nervously. Espresso Cookie nodded, trying to encourage her to keep on talking.
-'And there are resources... Unique to the Forbidden Forest...'
She paused again.
-'And so, I... I went in. I- I was just going to stay on the edge but... I couldn't find any resources there...'
She could feel Almond Cookie's stare, piercing through her very soul.
She paused again as she started to sweat. Espresso Cookie nodded at her again, giving her a somewhat soft smile to encourage her.
-'And so I went in... And... I saw a light. Just for a second. It looked like a lighting but... Red...'
Sihe paused again.
-'And... I followed it deeper into the forest and found a cave...
She paused, yet again. She struggled to speak properly as she was very anxious. She tried to forget about Almond's presence.
-'And so I went in and... Found it... In a clean, white cage...'
She took a deep breath again, and yet, she wasn't able to speak anymore.
Espresso Cookie sat in silence for a while before nodding again.
-'That's enough of what I needed to know. Thank you for your cooperation.'
He said as he picked up his papers. He stood up, walked to the exit and left. Alchemist Cookie followed him with her gaze, up until the door shut.
She turned back again and looked at Pure Vanilla Cookie. He was facing Almond Cookie. She followed his lead and also looked at him. He was facing her, but he was looking at the table. He looked like he was deep in his thoughts.
-'You know...'
He spoke up, still looking at the table.
-'I could arrest you for breaking into a crime scene...'
Alchemist Cookie curled up in the chair a little. She wished she could be ready for consequences, but it was hard without knowing to what exactly get ready for.
-'But I could also say that you entered it unconsciously, as you were under the control of strong magic.'
He looked at her. Her face lit up, as she did not expect him to defend her.
-'After all, Espresso Cookie did prove that the gem indeed has the ability to get into a cookie's head. With that, I'd be able to excuse you from the punishment you'd normally get. And, if that's not convincing.'
He looked at Pure Vanilla Cookie.
-'I'm sure there is a cookie who's important enough to get you out of any trouble.'
Pure Vanilla Cookie smiled. Alchemist could feel her brother's hands on her shoulders. She sighed relieved, as she leaned into the chair.
It was finally over.
(Finally finished this chapter. It took wayyy too long to finally sit down and write this till the end)
