Inner Struggles Unveiled (Inspired by Taylor Swift's song Anti-Hero)

In twilight's grasp, I stumble on,
The years pass by, but wisdom's gone.
The midnight sky becomes my noon,
Depression's shadow, a haunting tune.

Ghosts of those I've left behind,
In a crowded room, their faces find.
Lost in vices, a heart in crisis,
A tale as old as time arises.

My devices lead me astray,
Their prices high, their vices weigh.
In dreams, I scream, and fear prevails,
As you depart, my heart impales.

The mirror's gaze, I dare not face,
Rooting for the anti-hero's grace.
A monster on a distant hill,
Longing to be embraced, but still...

A sexy baby, they all appear,
While I, the outcast, looming near.
A city's favorite, yet too vast,
A heart pierced through, but it will last.

Beneath my altruism lies,
Covert narcissism in disguise.
Like a congressman, I play the part,
But in dreams, I wake, a broken heart.

In visions, my daughter-in-law's despair,
A fortune's death, she claims unfair.
The will's contents bring forth a scream,
"She laughs from hell, a haunting theme."

Through trials and pain, I yearn to find,
A path to heal my wounded mind.
To break the cycle, seek the light,
Embrace the shadows, day and night.

For growth and change, my soul shall strive,
To learn from pain, and love alive.
In this poetic journey's rhyme,
A chance for redemption, one last time.
