𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐀𝐖𝐎𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐎 her dog Lily licking at her face. Her breath smelled like peanut butter. Gross.

Lily was a 5-year-old golden retriever. She's lived with Jess and her family for only 3 years, but it feels like it's been a lifetime. Lily was Jess' best friend, her animal best friend. Can't forget about Alaina, of course.

"Okay, alright Lily, good morning to you too," Jess said to Lily, even though she can't understand. Lily didn't seem to care and put her front paws on Jess' stomach.

"Ow, seriously," Jess exclaimed, with an eye-roll.

After about 2 minutes, Lily finally got off Jess and ran out of her bedroom. Jess checked the time, to make sure she wasn't running late. 9:23, the clock said.

"Perfect" She whispered, standing up from her bed and heading to the closet. Today was a busy day for Jess. Thankfully, she woke up on time for once. She has work at 4, meaning errands must be done before. So, the plan is to get errands (grocery store, new pair of shoes) done by 1 so she can have lunch with Alaina. Then go to icky work.

Going through the clothes in the closet, Jess finally settled on wearing a plain black tank top and jean shorts. She didn't typically wear bright and fun outfits, just neutrals and simple outfits. Then she went to the bathroom to do her hair, makeup, and brush her teeth.

Jess decided to leave her hair down, instead of the usual ponytail. She could just put it up at work. For makeup, she went with just mascara, since the heat outside would melt everything off her face anyway.

She went back to her bedroom to quickly grab her keys and wallet before heading downstairs to the kitchen. When she arrived in the kitchen, her mom was sitting at the dining table, sipping coffee and reading a book. Lily was already taking a nap.

"Hey," Jess spoke as she grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard. Cereal sounded good.

"Good morning," Jess' mom replied as she set down her mug, "What's on today's agenda?"

"Um, grocery store for you, new shoes for me, and lunch with Alaina. Oh also work at 4." Jess answered. She grabbed a spoon and headed to the fridge to get milk.

"Alright, the list is on the counter by the door if you wanted it," Her mom explained.

"Thanks, Mom." Jess smiled as she grabbed the milk from the fridge.

Almond milk?? Jess wondered. How do you put almonds into milk??

She grabbed her favorite cereal and opened the box. There's barely anything left.

"Seriously," Jess breathed and poured the remaining cereal into the bowl. Then she put in the so-called almond milk and brought the bowl over to the table to eat.

After sitting down, Jess asked her mom, "What book is that?"

"It's called Holes, I think you would like this one," She replied.

"Hm, let me know when you're done with it. I'll check it out." Jess said before taking a bite of her breakfast.

About 10 minutes later, Jess had put her bowl in the sink and got her shoes on, ready to go run her errands.

"I'll see you later!" She shouted and opened the door.

Her mom shouted back, "Don't forget the list!"

"Oh yeah, thanks," Jess replied and walked out the door.

Meanwhile, Harry was in the middle of an intense game of the muggle game 'Go Fish' with Ron. Hermione taught them how to play half an hour ago, and they've been playing ever since.

Harry looked through his cards before saying, "Do you have...the fish."

Ron smirked, and replied, "No I do not, go fish bitch."

Harry rolled his eyes and picked up the last card in the draw pile. The end of the game was near. Harry had 4 cards, and Ron had 1. Ron also had far more matches than Harry did, for once.

"Harry, do you have, um the apple?"

Harry looked through his cards before replying, "Yes, I unfortunately do."

"YES," Ron screamed, throwing his single card down in victory, pointing his finger in Harry's face, "TAKE THAT HARRY, I WIN"

"Yeah, whatever," Harry mumbled with an eye-roll.

"Ron, stop screaming!" Hermione yelled from the kitchen.

"Sorry, sorry," Ron said, cheeks turning slightly red out of embarrassment.
