Taehyung and Jungkook sat in the car parked outside the gates of a mental health care facility. The imposing building loomed ahead, and Taehyung's gaze was fixed intently on the entrance. Jungkook, leaning back in his seat, turned his attention to Taehyung.
"Are you out of your mind, or is the person we're here to kidnap the one who's lost it?" Jungkook's voice carried a mix of skepticism and exasperation as he gestured towards the people inside the gate. Through the bars, he could see patients interacting with each other, their activities seemingly benign but out of the ordinary for Jungkook's taste.
Taehyung, undeterred, shook his head with a hint of frustration. "No, it's not me who's crazy. It's Thomas who's the real case. That's why his family admitted him here. They moved to America and left him behind. They even told the doctors he was insane."
Jungkook's expression remained blank as he tried to process the information, his eyes narrowing slightly as if he were grappling with a complex mathematical equation. He couldn't quite understand why Taehyung would be so invested in this peculiar situation.
Taehyung continued, unfazed by Jungkook's confusion. "Thomas needs our help, or he might end up really losing his mind. His family's negligence could push him over the edge. That's why it's up to us to step in and do something."
As Taehyung spoke, he rummaged through his bag, pulling out various items with a sense of purpose. Jungkook watched him, still trying to reconcile the absurdity of their mission with the seriousness of Taehyung's demeanor. Despite his reservations, Taehyung's conviction seemed unwavering, and Jungkook couldn't help but feel a grudging respect for his partner's determination.
Taehyung reached into his bag and pulled out a small transparent jar, which was half-filled with coins. He extended the jar toward Jungkook, who took it with a puzzled look on his face. Jungkook studied the jar, its contents clinking softly, and then looked up at Taehyung.
"Are these pennies?" Jungkook asked, his voice tinged with confusion as he examined the jar's contents.
"Yes," Taehyung confirmed with a nod, his expression earnest. He seemed eager to share something more. "Shall I tell you a joke?"
Jungkook, still holding the jar and not particularly interested in hearing another one of Taehyung's jokes, waved it off. "It's fine. The pennies are enough," he said, placing the jar carefully inside the car. He then stepped out of the vehicle, closing the door behind him.
Taehyung, undeterred by Jungkook's lack of enthusiasm, also exited the car. The two of them stood outside, ready to proceed with their mission.
Standing in front of the gate, Taehyung attempted to scale it, his movements somewhat awkward as he struggled to find a secure hold. Despite his efforts, he continued to talk non-stop, his words tumbling out in a steady stream.
"But you know," Taehyung said breathlessly as he tried to pull himself up, "I think it would be a good idea for you to grab someone's collar too. Though I understand if you don't see it as necessary. You might not have a problem with it."
As Taehyung chattered away, Jungkook, already seeming less interested in the conversation, simply pushed open the gate and walked through, leaving Taehyung behind. The moment Jungkook crossed the threshold, he glanced back to see Taehyung still perched precariously atop the gate.
Taehyung, noticing Jungkook's lack of assistance, started shouting, his voice carrying an urgent edge as he called out for help. "Hey! Jungkook! A little help here!" His shouts echoed through the air as he continued to struggle, his attempts to climb down hindered by the gate's height and his own awkward positioning.
