Jungkook's thoughts were abruptly pulled back to a painful memory involving Cyril, a memory that had left a deep mark on his psyche. It was a courtroom scene, a clash of emotions that still haunted him. He remembered the day when the trial concerning Cyril's boyfriend, Ken, had reached its conclusion. The case against Jungkook had faltered due to insufficient evidence, leaving him exonerated but far from absolved in the eyes of those who had been affected.

Cyril had given a statement that contradicted the true nature of Ken's death, labeling it as an accident rather than a deliberate act. The courtroom had been filled with tense silence as the verdict was read, and Jungkook had walked out of the courthouse, carrying the weight of unresolved guilt and sorrow.

As he stepped out, Jungkook had caught sight of Cyril standing nearby. Cyril's expression was a complex tapestry of hurt, anger, and something Jungkook couldn't quite decipher. Cyril's eyes, however, avoided Jungkook's, refusing to meet his gaze. The unspoken tension between them was palpable, thickening the air around them.

Cyril's voice had cut through the silence, cold and resolute. "I haven't forgotten his death, nor do I fear you," he had said, his voice steady despite the emotion that lingered just beneath the surface.

He continued, each word imbued with a mix of bitterness and prophecy. "You want to know why I didn't give the statement against you?" Cyril had asked, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"In this court, there's no judge for your justice," Cyril had said, his tone carrying an edge of finality. "In the higher court, God will decide. He has planned something even worse for you. One day, someone dear to you will die right in front of your eyes, and you won't be able to save them."

With that ominous declaration, Cyril had turned away, the tears he tried to conceal betraying the pain he felt. He walked off with a determined stride, leaving Jungkook alone with the heavy burden of Cyril's prophecy echoing in his mind.

The memory of Cyril's words now resurfaced with an unsettling clarity. The haunting prophecy of losing someone dear, of being powerless to prevent their suffering, weighed heavily on Jungkook's heart. The prophecy seemed to loom over him, entwined with the grief and anger he felt in the present, making the pain of his recent actions even more profound.
