Jungkook slammed the brakes of his jeep and leaped out, his heart racing as he rushed toward the building. Just as he reached the door, two police officers blocked his path, their stern expressions indicating they were ready to prevent any unauthorized entry.

"Let him in," Mingyu commanded, his voice carrying a tone of authority.

With Mingyu's order, the police stepped aside, allowing Jungkook to push through. The sight that greeted him as he entered the room nearly brought him to his knees. Taehyung's father was sprawled on the floor, his body battered and his head gruesomely damaged by a blunt object. The brutal scene before him was almost too much to bear.

Jungkook's eyes filled with tears as he took in the devastating reality. He felt a crushing sense of failure and helplessness. The camera placed on Taehyung's father's chest captured every horrifying moment of his struggle and desperate pleas. The image of his father-in-law's suffering was a stark reminder of his own inadequacy in protecting his loved ones.

As Jungkook stood there, grappling with his emotions, Mingyu approached him. Mingyu's expression was a mixture of pity and satisfaction as he looked at Jungkook's anguished face. Just then, Mingyu's phone rang, breaking the heavy silence.

Mingyu answered the call, his voice calm and measured. "Yes?"

On the other end of the line, Joonseo spoke with a resigned tone. "Sir, before Jungkook finds me and kills me, I want to surrender myself."

Mingyu's eyes narrowed as he listened, then he asked, "Where are you right now?"

Joonseo provided an address, and Mingyu ended the call, his face reflecting a mix of amusement and contemplation. He turned back to Jungkook, who was still reeling from the shock of the scene before him.

Mingyu shook his head, a sardonic smile playing on his lips. "I've seen many lowly individuals in the police force, but none as despicable as this. f he survived because of me, then not only God but I too cannot forgive myself. Until now, I've been the villain in your life, constantly obstructing you. But today, I'm telling you to finish what you started. He is lying in the same place where he committed his crimes. He's in your and Taehyung's apartment."

The words hit Jungkook like a sledgehammer, a storm of pain and rage swirling in his eyes. The gravity of Mingyu's revelation, coupled with the unbearable image of Taehyung's father's suffering, ignited a fire of vengeance within him. His emotions, once restrained, now brimmed with a fierce determination to confront Joonseo and end this chapter of suffering.
