-Levi P.O.V.-

A few hours ago, I was pretty much commanded to go to Eren's room. Okay, I lied. I snuck into the room when all of the desk reps left.

When he was stable enough to breathe on his own, they brought him back to his original room. After I found that out, I literally slipped in there.

Now I'm here, watching his chest raise with the sound of the heart monitor beeping. That is the sound that makes me sure that Eren will survive.

Beep. Beep. Every beep that passes, fills me with an ounce of hope. The kind that you only feel when you know it is going to happen. I know he's going to survive.

The door clicks to show that it has opened. My head turns to the door creaking open. A nurse sits there with a clipboard being carried in her left hand.

"Sir, are you family to this boy?" She asks after she closes the door.

"No, but this is my fault. I should have payed more attention to where he was going. Right now, I'm the only one in Nebraska he knows." I say and look down.

The nurse sighs a deep sigh. She looks as if she is thinking about something.

"You know what, I'm letting this slip. If any other nurses come in, tell them your his cousin or something. P.S. I can tell this boy is special to you." She says with a smile.

I feel butterflies in my stomach. Or it is just my brain telling me the nurse is right. I don't really know, but I know that this nurse has become my second favorite person.

The first is Eren. Of course.

She is checking on all of the stuff. His IV's, heart monitor, you know the obvious.

After about a few minutes, she leaves.

I look back at him. He looks...peaceful. Of course, there are a few bruises and more cuts that what I thought there were. Some cuts deeper than others. Others were almost bearly noticeable.

His closed lips were chapped. I remember as if it was yesterday, he was terrified of a blizzard. The cold wasn't his favorite thing. I also remember distinctly him having fun in the snow. His caribbean eyes were glowing in the grey and white backround. His lighter tan skin looked as if it could blind someone. His white teeth showing with his hands dug into the snow to grab more snow. The softest brown hair had white specks landing on it.

He looked happy. A kid that had his first snow day.

I feel a tear. It happened too quickly. I should have made him stay longer. This wouldn't have happened.

Now, he's here, laying on a hospital bed. In a coma.
