Chapter 23: We've Turned Tumblr

We walk into the apartment where Levi and I will be living in. Okay, you caught me. It's the same one from when I visited. It is still nice though. Execpt the living room coffee table has papers and mail scattered all over it.

A lot of them had the hospital name on it. I'm guessing it was bills he had to pay. Bills from the life support and such other things. I feel pretty bad that he has to open them, then pay them and do it all again.

"Um, Levi, you know I can help pay those." I insisted. It seems like a lot.

"It's no problem, Eren. You need to settle in and start thinking about school." He locks the door as he confirmed what he said. "Yeah. That's right."

"Seriously, I can help, I got you into it. I can get a job and help pay the bills! I'm eighteen after all." I say with a smile to try to convince him.

"Yeah, no. Nice try though." He comes back with that sentence.

I sit down on the couch with defeat. Levi comes around the from behind the couch and sits down on my right. I turn to him.

He puts his hand in his coat pocket and pulls out a Galaxy S5 that is white. Wait, I thought he had the iphone 5c.

"Since your phone was crushed during the crash, I bought you a new one. I would have got the S6, but it was like $400 and I thought no." He told me while handing me the smooth phone.

I take it in my hand and flip it around a few times. I look up and hug him. My head was on his shoulder, I had tears running down my face. I let go and kiss him on the cheek.

We just sit there, as if nothing else mattered right then. Then, Levi takes out his phone and types something. My phone has it's original ringtone. PAAASSSTTTAAAAA!!! I unlock the screen and see that Levi texted. I tap on it and swipe the lighter box. The text reads: I love you, Eren.

My eyes started watering from happiness. I wipe the tears that are free falling from my eyes. "I love you too."

"By any chance, did you want to say this in public as a couple?" He asks with a shoulder shrug.

"That chance is something I would love to do." I smile when I finished answering.

*10 months later*

"Eren Jäeger." The announcer spoke my name. I walk up the stairs and walk across the stage. The principal hands me my diploma. I shake his hand and give him a bright smile. I walk back down the stairs back to the chair I started in.

After waiting about fifteen minutes, the announcer comes back. "Graduates, put your tassel to the right." We switch it in unison.

"Congratulations Class of 2015!" The announcer howls. We throw our hats in the air. Everyone grabs their hat and walks out of the rows.

I meet Levi after the ceremony to go home. We walk out holding hands. Then, he abruptly stops. I look to him, there is a crowd of people. He gets on one knee.

"Eren Jäeger, I loved you ever since we met on Tumblr. You had the courage to come visit me three states away and not think twice. You made me feel better at my worst times, you made me smile inside and everything.

"You are something special. I caught you at the right time. I loved you for a long time. Ever since that day you changed my life. It was November 27 of 2014 and that day will live in infamy for me." I'm crying. Everyone is looking.

"Please, Eren Jäeger, will you marry me?" He asks.

I nod almost like it was made in my mind in a split second. He puts the ring on. "You don't have to take my last name." He insisted.

He kisses me and I kiss him back. Everyone starts cheering in the back. I hear howls in the back and a lot of gross remarks, but I don't care.

I'm engaged to my best friend. I love him. Nothing could bring us apart. He tried everything to keep me alive and such other things. Now, I get to marry the one true person I love more than anything.
