Black pools of mercury
Bleed across the sky
And set the moon on fire
They make me believe that I could touch that moon
That I could get lost in that darkness
And escape
But then
I look down
And really
I can't
I'm stuck here
Running with nowhere to go
Hopeless
I look away
I take another shaking breath
And try to forget
I try to erase
The words that just keep coming
Spoken from smirking lips
Lips that lie
You don't repeat them
You would never repeat them
And you don't need to
Because that's how you are
Black pools of mercury
Can't save me now
From the words that just keep coming
They bleed across this room
And set me on fire
Because you like to see me struggle
And that smirk becomes a grin
As you laugh at my fumbling fingers
I stop and stutter
Unsure of what to say
What can I say
You said it all
Because that's how I am
And you just keep on laughing

Poems
PoetryA collection of poems I wrote. Mostly not about happy stuff. They usually rhyme. First one doesn't.
