Takal, the Male Alien, and the Female Alien approached the National Counterterrorism Center. Takal stared the door down. The Male and Female Alien approached him from the side and the Female Alien said, "Let's go!"
Takal kicked the door down and the three were immediately met by agents pointing guns at them. They didn't stand a chance and they knew it.The three aliens were being walked through the halls of the center with guns pointed to each of their backs. Takal couldn't believe that they were caught this easily. But the thing he couldn't understand was why they were shot on sight. He didn't know where the agents were taking them but he didn't feel good about it.
They arrived at an office door and an agent opened the door. He looked at the three aliens and signaled them to enter the room. Takal and the two aliens walked inside the office. Takal turned around and saw the agent close the door. But none of the agents remained inside. It made him think back to what Padma told him before she left.
Takal looked forward and stared into the eyes of a young black man with two large scares running down over his forehead and cheek. He leaned forward and said, "Well, well, well. You've been hard to kill, Takal."
The two aliens glared at Takal, trying to figure out how this human knew Takal's name. Takal just stared at the young man.
There was definitely a sense of tension coming from Takal. He said, "Hey, no need to look at me like that. I only want to talk."
Takal still didn't say a word. The young man asked, "Don't you want to know what I want to talk about?"
Once again Takal didn't engage in a conversation with this man. He sighed and said, "Well, I guess I gotta do everything."
The young man stood from his chair and walked around the desk toward the three aliens. At that moment, the Female Alien quickly swung her first at the young man. He saw this coming before she even moved a muscle and grabbed her arm. He twisted it and punched her right in the face. She fell to the floor and he stood above her, staring at her coldly and wanting to do more. The other two aliens just watched. Takal wanted to see why this man was seen as such a powerful threat. The young man looked at the two aliens and smiled. He said, "Oops, I lost a bit too much of my control."
The Male Alien asked, "Why are we here? Why haven't you killed us?"
The young man said, "Eh, those are some very good questions. Unfortunately, I can only answer one. Actually, I only want to answer one."
He looked directly at Takal and said, "I haven't killed you because I think you're special."
The Male Alien noticed he wasn't looking at him and turned to Takal. Takal had no words for the man. He said, "You managed to escape death so many times. Unlike the other aliens that we've played this project with, you lasted the longest. That says something about you. It tells me that you're worth keeping alive. Well, long enough to tell you why you've lasted this long."
Takal didn't look interested, but he was. He wanted to know why this man was in charge of so many aliens dying. The young man said, "I should apologize. I didn't mean to make this so personal. I know you lost a lot. But you should know, the people of this planet did as well. So I knew that controlling them into what I wanted them to do would be easy."
The Male Alien asked, "How were you able to control that many humans? What are you?"
The young man said, "I'm just a man with a powerful object..."
At that moment, the young man pulled out the glowing red object known as The Zeel. The two aliens looked upon the glowing object like it was something from heaven. He said, "This is The Zeel. The most powerful android artifact in this universe. My universe. Every universe."
That's when it happened, Takal noticed the young man say he wasn't from this universe. Takal said, "Hey, what did you just say?"
The young man smiled at the sound of Takal catching on. He said, "So, he can talk."
Takal became angered by the man's response and said, "I asked you a question!"
The young man sighed and said, "Jeez, are you always so cranky? All I said was that I'm from another universe."
Takal couldn't believe a being from another universe was the cause of all this. How could he control such high ranked humans and be so young?
He then asked, "What is that thing?"
The young man looked at The Zeel once more and said, "This? This is something that has been lost in space for years. And somehow, landed on your planet. I've known people that have looked for this. I found it and... let's just say I used it in a way that you'd find vile."
Takal asked, "What did you do?"
The young man said, "Oh you know, controlled the minds of the entire CIA. Showing them what true power looks like and what it could do if used in an unhappy way. I knew that the aliens were also looking for this, so instead of destroying the minds of every alien on the planet and in the universe, I insisted that the humans eliminate them instead. I never told them how to do it. I showed them what they needed to do. From there, they ran with it. Creating these little projects of murder and lies. Unfortunately, not all the agents got this memo. So I did find it odd that one of them thought of the idea of using you and keeping you as an informant."
Takal said, "You! You killed Blake?!"
The young man shook his head and said, "That wasn't me. That was all free will of the young agent that dropped you off here. Padme or something like that."
Takal stared at The Zeel, wondering what else it was capable of. If he was able to see and control minds, what other things could be done with it. It made Takal want to have it for himself.
With the young man holding it, he could see Takal's thoughts as if it was a television playing at the top of his forehead. He smiled and said, "You want this?"
Takal was caught off guard by the young man's question and looked away from The Zeel. The young man handed The Zeel to Takal and said, "Take it. I don't need it anymore."
The temptation to grab it was setting in deep. He wanted it, but didn't know what to do with it first. The thoughts ran across his head for a while. The young man could see all his thoughts and found them amusing. But eventually, Takal came down to the thought of not taking The Zeel. If every universe wanted it, then that would mean many different enemies he'd have to run from and fight almost every day. That wasn't something he wanted. He wanted to get into a space craft and fly off. Hide on a planet and never be bothered again. The young man smiled gracefully and said, "You see, that's not bad. This thing is too powerful to be held in the hands of someone like you. It needs a manipulator, not a person who's been manipulated. You did all these things to these people because you were told that they were evil. But you never thought for a second about how much that never truly wanted to be harmed. That life you wanted. That's what they wanted but have been dealing with your shit every year for the past eight years. You don't need this. But neither do I. Which is why... I'm going to make a quick call."
He held The Zeel tight as he turned away from the aliens and looked above him. He closed his eyes and began looking into the minds of every individual in every universe. Every man, woman, vampire, alien, android, demon, etc., was going to listen to what he had to say. "Um, hello random people," said the young man. "I am a person reaching out to all of you throughout different universes. If you didn't know another universe existed outside of yours, today you've just learned. Unfortunately, I must tell you that I'm currently able to kill any of you at any second. I won't, but I figure that's something I should tell you before you make your decision. If you're wondering what decision I could possibly be referring to, well it's simple. I carry an artifact so powerful I can do whatever I want with any mind, anywhere. Some of you may fear that power. But to those that like it or maybe even want it. Come to Earth. And I don't mean the one that looks like shit. I mean this Earth. The one that's been attacked by Jola and his band of zealots. I know you know the one. It's here. And it's waiting for you. Good luck."
All of these were merely thoughts flowing through the mind of the young man. No one near him could hear it. Once he opened his eyes, he looked at the two aliens. They were confused as to what he just did. He sat The Zeel on his desk and said, "Now, I should tell you three to leave. I've ordered the agents in the building to kill you. If you somehow survive, which I don't doubt Takal will. But if all three of you survive, then you may want to consider leaving this planet."
The young man suddenly began to leave. Takal asked, "What are you doing?"
He held the door knob in his palm when Takal asked this. He turned to him with a smile and said, "This planet is about to experience another war. Beings powerful enough to level a city are coming for The Zeel. Some manipulators, some not. But that's what's exciting. Seeing who ends up with this first. Be safe out there and if we cross paths again, I hope it's under better circumstances."
The door opened and revealed the same agents standing at the doorway with guns trained on them. They quickly moved aside for him as if he was some type of king. Once he was out of sight, they got into formation again and aimed at the aliens. Takal and the two aliens were now looking at a battle they honestly had no way of winning...
