Takal and Ous stepped into New Orleans, Louisiana looking for Padma Madrid. Their hope was to find her so that she could lead them to Jayron.
The two stepped off the bus. Ous was carrying a hot dog that he bought along the way while Takal was completely empty handed.
"The food these humans make has got me on a high," Ous praised his hot dog after taking a bite. "It has all the necessary tastes to keep me coming back for more. So tasty. But I must ask, why don't you try a bite?"
"Okay, look," Takal turned to face Ous. "It is pure ass that you're chewing on right now."
"No it's not," Ous said before taking a sniff.
"But it is what it is," Takal rolled his eyes before moving on. "This is a very important thing we're doing."
"I'm aware," Ous said. "Listen, you need to relax. You're so fixated on going right into the action. I want to enjoy the city. I don't want people noticing how intense we are right now."
"Well they won't if you close your mouth," Takal pointed at Ous. "How about trying that?"
"Huh," Ous chuckled. "So damn tense."
As the two aliens continued their walk along the city, Takal noticed the posters hanging on the walls everywhere. The posters were warning people to watch out for suspicious aliens pretending to be humans.
"This is just great," Takal grabbed one of the posters.
"Does that look like us?" Ous asked Takal while staring at a drawing of a gruesome looking alien ripping off human flesh on the poster.
"It's not," Takal scoffed.
"You don't think they'll suspect us, do you?" Ous began to worry.
"It's possible," Takal turned to look around at the humans passing by them. "It's very possible. I think we need to hurry up and find the human. It's likely that she's around here somewhere."
"Is she really the only person that can lead us to that human we met?" Ous asked.
"No," Takal said. "And even if there was, we'd be going through this same process. No one knew this guy as well as she did."
"Sure," Ous didn't believe that. "You know, I feel like we should have asked Wift to help us find the human we're truly after. You think we made a mistake? Blows this whole mission out of the water and saves us a bunch of time."
Takal had thought of this. He felt saddened by the idea that they had so little resources to help them find someone.
Two men, passing by the aliens. One of the men mentioned a weird ship they saw back north in the Garden District. The second guy thought it would have been better for him to call the police. Apparently, the first guy feared the fact that they might be aliens and didn't want to get involved with that. The second repeated the idea of calling the police right now.
Ous took a bite out of his hot dog, listening to the entire thing with Takal. He knew they had to go to that district. The two aliens boarded a bus for the Garden District. Takal couldn't believe they caught a break this easily. The bus pulled off from the stop and headed to their requested stop. They had a job to do. They were going to catch Padma and find Jayron.
They were getting close after 10 minutes. Takal was ready to say bye to this bus once and for all. All the while, he didn't dare underestimate Padma. He paid for that last time. She had scratched off two people in his life. Takal cursed himself. He felt weak knowing that someone like Jayron existed.
Ous pulled the line to let the driver know they wanted to get off. The bus pulled over to the stop and allowed the two aliens to step off together. It was a nice ride but right now they had to focus on the task at hand.

A few hours before Takal and Ous arrived in the Garden District, Padma sat on a streetcar heading to meet Jayron. She thought of nothing other than finding him and making sure he left the planet safely. She remembered the day she first met him. He was the best looking man she'd ever seen. She agreed with him without the power of the Zeel. She thought of him every time he wasn't near her. She wanted to fly with him back to his universe so they could be together.
"I'm happy you're here," Jayron stood beside her. "'Cause I'm going to need your help."
"Shut up and give me a hug," Padma said as she stood up to hug Jayron. "Is everything okay?"
"Don't worry about it," Jayron tried reassuring her.
"What stop are we getting off at?" Padma asked.
"Good question," Jayron said as the streetcar slowed down at a stop.
"No way," Padma said as she watched Jayron begin to get off. "I knew you put it somewhere near here."
"The last thing I wanted to do was put it somewhere I didn't trust it being," Jayron said as the two walked over to his ship. "Just trying to be smart."
"I know," Padma smiled. "The alien that came to visit you. He found you because of me. All of this happened because he got the better of me. I just wanted to make sure you knew that."

Down beneath the Garden District, in the sewers, was where Jayron kept his ship. Takal lifted the manhole covering the access point into the sewer after learning that two people moved it down there a few hours ago.
"So, they went into the sewers," Takal said to Ous as they searched around. He was surprised they were spotted so easily. As if they weren't afraid of being caught. He must've believed he had options. Why did he come here?
"But, what if they're already gone?" Ous asked. "They're not likely to sit around and wait."
Ous froze once he saw Jayron and Padma moving the ship through the sewer. He thought it was impossible to have found them already. There were tens of thousands routes through the sewer and they singled out the one that led them straight to the two humans they were looking for.
"That's them," Takal said with a smile. "'Cause they aren't perfect."
Takal thought he'd done good work finding Padma and Jayron. Now, there was nowhere for the two to run. He took out his laser knife holt and ignited the blade before running towards them.
Padma thought she heard sounds coming from above ground, by the time she realized the sounds were coming from behind her, Takal was visible through the darkness. There was still some distance in between them.
The sewer wasn't the most ideal place to have a battle. The chances of having one were slim as it required lots of safety. Above ground, sight wasn't as difficult. Down in the sewer, there were limits. There was no avoiding anything.
Padma anticipated Takal's next move. She wasn't worried about what he did. She knew she could easily take him down. She pulled out her gun and shot a bullet right into Takal's right arm. Takal laughed to himself as he continued toward her.
Padma was confused. She expected Takal to dodge the shot. Instead, he came at her and moved faster than she could. He sent his left fist straight into her nose, breaking it. She cried out in pain as she stepped back from the massive strike. Takal then swung his leg at the back of her neck, connecting so perfectly that she fell forward.
Padma didn't give up. She shouted as she pointed her gun at Takal and tried shooting him. Takal, this time, jumped over the bullet when it came flying at him. While in the air behind her, Takal sent his leg at the back of her head. She couldn't believe it. The hit connected and she began to pass out. Before she could, she remembered seeing Jayron's happy face when he first had a look at the Zeel Padma brought to him.
The memory faded just as quickly as her consciousness did. She called out to Jayron before hitting the ground.
Takal finally felt the bullet wound in his arm and began breathing heavily, trying not to pass out in the process. The sound shift in motion from Jayron caused Takal to look at him with an intense stare. He finally had the human where he wanted him.
