The silence that filled the air was deafening. It was suffocating it was filled with confusion. It was filled with curiosity, but it was filled most with patience.
For a moment, no one moved. No one spoke no one breathed. For a moment, it felt like the only people who are in the room were the ninja and King London. For a moment only their glares pierced through the silence.
The silence. The silence that had occasional squawks or chirps of the birds outside. For a moment, the birds felt the silence radiating off the walls. The tension. As if watching a show. The birds perched themselves on the windows, their heads shifting from side to side. Attempting to catch all the action.
The gazes of the guests moved from the ninja to the king. Unsure of what to do. Unsure of when to move. Unsure of when to speak. Unsure when this glare off would end. Their silent questions hung in the air. Unanswered.
The silence. The hall was silent. No one made a sound. The crowd of the birds at the windows increased. The flock was noticed by a few of the guests. Not a single chirp came out of the birds. Their eyes moving from side to side knew they must stay silent.
Snap.
The silence was broken. A single picture was taken. The stares did not seize. The disturbance went unnoticed. The silence resumed.
Snap. Snap. Snap.
Again; the silence was broken. Pictures were taken. The New King. The return of the Ninja. News titles were posted all over every single social media in existence. The view grew each passing second. The stares continued.
Each person themselves, waiting for their opponents next move. No moves were made. The recording began. The people less stunned, less scared took out phones. The red button on the bottom of the screen was filled. The time on the top was increasing; yet no movement had occurred. Not a step. Not a raise of a hand.
Nothing.
The staring continued. Though the silence was no more. The birds that had perched at the windows had flown away. Off to do what ever birds in ninjago did. News stations took their spots. Cameraman. Paparazzi. Flashes. The bright lights taking snippets of the meeting. Voices, quiet voices, loud voices, squeals, shouts, screams, yells. Gasps.
Noise. All the noise the audience was holding in, entered the air. Unanswered questions erupted from the guests' mouths. Silence was no longer. It had dispersed through the vents. Noise.
The noise did not reach the ninja. Nor did it reach the king. However it did reach someone. Awakening them from their coma of boredom. For a second the control London had faltered. For a second the purple eyes of the king had turned bright green. For a second the brown hair of the ruler had transformed into light blond strands. For a second the scowl upon the young man's face changed to a familiar goofy grin. For a second Lloyd stood before the ninja in his green ninja Gi. Only for a second. The young ninja stayed for a second because disappearing back into the king. The second was caught by a flash. That single second was all over social media by the next second. For that single second the 4 ninja who were pronounced missing were found.
But that was only for a second. London. King London stood in the place where Lloyd had been. The king gripped the scepter beside him. Power. Power filled his veins. Immense power. Magnificent power. Addictive power. Transforming power. Little did anyone know the scepter had the power of multiplying powers. It was coated with Altriecstone. A stone that could make the weakest if men, a warlord who could kill thousands. Control thousands. Purify thousands. Corrupt thousands.
London himself was already powerful to begin with. How much more with the scepter? A lot more. His power could wipe out half of all the people in all the 16 realms. He could poison their minds. He could kill them. He could purify them. He could corrupt them into making them his slaves. But those weren't his plans. His plans were more thought out. More evil. More sophisticated. He did have 27 years to come up with it.
