"Hey Beth, how's it going?" Maggie asked her sister
"So far, so good, I just don't know how we're going to finish all this." Maggie looked at me, and I nodded. "That's why I got help, Beth, that's Ivy, that's Ivy, that's Beth."Beth smiled at me and greeted me with a 'hey.' "Can you cook?" Beth asked me, pointing to the pots that were on the stove, "Yes, before this all happened, I worked as a kitchen chef."
Beth clapped her hands together. "Perfect, you could then cut the vegetable there and then help Maggie with the sauce?"
"Why would she need help with that?" I asked, confused, and looked at Maggie. "Well, let's say Maggie is not the best at cooking, like at all."Maggie grabbed the towel and threw it at Beth. "Shut up, Beth, that's not true." Beth raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
"Yes, it is."
"No, it's not."
"Yes-"
"no!"
"You can't cook mag-"
"Beth, I swear to God if you don't shut up, i-"They both stopped when they looked at me, I was laughing, and I couldn't stop. "Sorry, sorry i-" I started to laugh again, and this time the other two started laughing too. "Oh my gosh, sorry, you two reminded me of my brother and I," I snorted.
"Yes, I will help Maggie; don't worry, Beth." I waved at her, and Maggie just rolled her eyes and turned around. I approached the vegetables and started cutting them. After a while, I was done, and Beth had left the kitchen to get something.
I looked around and stood next to Maggie to watch her make the sauce.
"You and your brother, you must be close," Maggie asked me, and I sighed, "yes, we were despite our age difference."
"How is he?" Maggie asked me, and then I thought for a moment."Well, he gives off that 'I'm looking like a grizzly, but actually I'm a teddy bear' kind of vibe, he's good at cooking and likes Baseball, it even got to the point where he gave the Sticks names."
Maggie looked at me, her mouth was shaped like an 'o.' "Please tell me you're not like that." I shrugged. "Not with baseballs, no."
"And with what then?" Maggie raised an eyebrow. "Plushies." I had a big grin on my face, and Maggie just rolled her eyes.Maggie looked right into my eyes. "And where is he now?" she asked cautiously, you could tell that she was trying not to make it uncomfortable for me. "He and I were separated when it happened, and I've been looking for him since."
Maggie now had a look of sadness in her eyes. "And then you ended up here," she said quietly. "Yes, but he isn't here either, so..." Maggie took the salt and put it in the sauce. "So you're leaving us soon?"
She asked me, and I just shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know, Rick wanted to discuss with his people whether I stay or not. I think because this is your land, he will discuss this with you too."
She nodded. "He already has. I think he's now talking to his group." I sighed. "I don't even know now if I would stay if they let me," I thought to myself. "I was in favor of you staying," Maggie said softly.I smiled at her and put my hand on hers. She smiled back, and she realized how close we were when she dropped the salt into the sauce.
"Shit," she said, and she tried to get the salt out of the pot.
I took out a pair of tongs and was still looking for the salt. When I found it, I pulled it out and held it out to Maggie. "Are you looking for this?" I asked. And she just looked annoyed at me and took the salt with a piece of paper to make it clean. I took a spoon and tried the sauce. "So if you don't pay attention to the salt, what you only taste," she slapped my arm, and I raised my hands, "then it would be perfect."
Maggie turned to a shelf with seasonings and put them in front of me. "Well, then kitchen chef, go on and show what you can do." She was about to leave the kitchen when I put my hand on her Shoulder, "I would like it if you gave me a hand. I didn't cook in a while, so..." She shook her head and looked at me.
"Fine, but you have to promise to let me do my thing, okay?"
"yes ma'am!" I said it with a grin. After a while, we managed to save the sauce and make the rest of the dinner. "Thank you, really," she said, and she looked at the food. "Don't worry about it after that, she will never say that you can't cook again." I pointed to the food.
"Well, I hope so," Maggie said, and we looked at each other for a moment. "So tell me." I clap my hands together."Tell you what?"
Maggie asked confused "About yourself, I told you about my brother and what I did before the outbrack " Maggie looked at the floor and thought for a moment."I wanted to go to college, I wanted to educate myself, but I ended up here on the farm and helped my family."
She said it with a hint of sadness, but she seemed to be happy.
"You're happy about that?" she sighed. "Well, I'm a bit sad that I didn't take the chance to get into college. Even my dad said I could do that, but I wanted to help them, so here I am."
She chuckled and looked at her finger."Well, maybe helping your family wasn't such a bad idea." I took her hat that she had put on the table and put it on. "Then you wouldn't have seen me in my great cowgirl outfit." I grinned at her and made finger guns with my hands. Maggie grabbed her hat and hit me on the head with it "You really are the biggest idiot I've ever met."
"That's my job"She slapped me with the hat again and then put it on. "But really, if you want to talk about what you would have done if you hadn't gone to the farm, I'm curious to hear your plans," I said softly, scratching my neck.
She smiled, "Now it's my turn."
"Are we playing twenty-one questions now?" I asked playful
Maggie didn't say anything and moved her hand towards my left cheek. "What happened here?" she said, lying her Palm on my scar that I had on my left cheek "I-that's uhm…" I didn't know how to tell her what happened, it was still something I had to get over with.
"bad guys?"Maggie asked me softly, seeing my discomfort. "Yeah, bad guys," I said quietly. Maggie looked at me with eyes that said 'sorry', and she gently stroked her thumb over my cheek.
I just looked at her the whole time until she let go.
"You asked me if I wanted to talk. What would I do if I didn't help at the farm?"
"Yes, I'm very Curious"Maggie was walking away from me and turned, around. "Then help me get the food on the table first." She took one of the pots and placed it on the table. I followed her movements, and in no time, the table was set.
"We're making a pretty good team." I stretched out my hand and waited for Maggie to give me a high five, which luckily she did. "Oh yes, we are," she said."Could you look if the others are here yet?" Maggie pointed outside, "Everything for you, Cowgirl." I bowed in front of her, but before she could do or say anything, I was out the door.
"So childish," Maggie said to herself, not knowing what was happening at that moment, but let's be honest, I didn't even know what was going on myself.
Hello there! So I thought after four chapters, it would be a great time to tell what Ivy looks like. Ivy has short brown hair, a scar on her cheek (if you didn't notice), brown eyes, and a tattoo of many flowers on her right shoulder.
I didn't want to face-claim her, so if you want, you can imagine what her face looks like. Also don't worry, from the next Chapter on I will follow the storyline of season 2
