Kankri POV:

Today was very difficult. In the morning, you needed to make sure nobody saw Cronus leaving your house. After, you had to explain to your father that you would be moving out by the end of the week. Which actually didn't go as well as planned since your dad had to be stubborn and start ranting about how graduation was only in 2 more months and that you should wait and blah blah blah. Karkat had also been clinging to your leg crying because he didn't want you to leave (which was kinda strange but he was your 10-year-old brother after all so you didn't really care). Finally, you started packing your stuff. You had a lot of books and movies and shit so you wanted to get a head start and kinda sort your things in boxes. ((btw I have a headcannon that Kankri watches romcoms with Karkat to try and form a bond with him and he loves them so the bonding-thing totally works... except they fight over stupid little differences like normal fangirls would ~Nikk)) But right now was the hardest part of the day. You were downtown standing outside the mental health office. You told Cronus no more closets. But what you didnt tell him, was that it was going to be a whole lot harder than getting an apartment without a walk-in.

You walked in and went up to the woman at the counter. "H-hell9... I need t9 make an app9intment with s9me9ne f9r this week..." you stuttered. The grumpy looking woman sighed. "If this is your first time, you'll have to fill out this form before we can get you in for evaluation." She groaned. You took the form and pen that she handed you and sat down to fill out the form. about 5 minutes later, you walked back up and handed you a form. "Please take a seat and wait for your name to be called." she huffed. You were shaking as you sat back down. 15 minutes later, a woman with short blonde hair and a headband walked into the waiting room. "Kankri Vantas?" she called sweetly. You stood up and nodded. she smiled as she lead you to her office. "My name is Rose Lalonde. I'll be giving you an evaluation to see which psychiatrist you should see. Please have a seat and we can get started." she stated. You liked her. She wasn't rude or pushy like your old psychiatrist was. You sat down and she began to ask you tons of questions about your life, what brought you here, and even began asking about Cronus. "Was he the one who brought you here?" She asked finally. You hung your head low. "Um... well I guess in a sense yeah... see, I kinda made a pr9mise t9 him last night that I truly intend t9 keep... but It's g9ing t9 take m9re than just a pr9mise t9 prevent me from d9ing it... S9 I th9ught if I came d9wn here and talked t9 s9meb9dy then maybe they c9uld help me with my pr9blem..." you explained. She nodded and jotted something down on her notepad. "Now what might this promise be?" she asked. You sighed. It was finally time to talk about it. "Well... It's a little embarrassing... Whenever I feel depressed 9r angry 9r sad in any way I just... l9ck myself in my cl9set... and the 9nly pers9n wh9 can get me 9ut is Cr9nus... and idk why...." you choked. You felt tears dripping down your eyes and Rose gave you a box of Tissues. She smiled and put some papers in a file. "Well I'm sure we can help you. I'll give you a call tomorrow to let you know who to set up an appointment with. We will most certainly do everything in our power to help you." She stated. You gave her a weak smile as she led you back into the waiting room. You thanked her before turning to exit the building.

As you began to leave, You saw Cronus's little brother walking towards the building. "Hell9 Eridan." You said as he saw you. You saw his eyes sparkle as he rushed up to you and gave you a hug. You were totally shocked since you hadn't even spoken to the kid before but you didn't really mind. "Kankri... don't tell Cronus I said this but... I don't think wwhat my dad said is right... even if you are both boys, evverybody deservves to be wwith the person they love..." He muttered. You wanted to say something but you just couldn't find the words. To hear those words from such a young boy... it made you feel warm. You felt a tear roll down your cheek and Eridan blushed and pulled away. "I mean... don't take it personally... I just think it's common sense ya knoww?" he huffed as he crossed his arms. You giggled as you wiped away your tear and smiled. "Thank y9u Eridan... I really needed t9 hear that." you said with a smile. You ruffled his hair as you began to walk away. Things were changing. And the results weren't going to be too far off.
