He'll apologise later, it's fine. It's not like they haven't had worse fights.
But later never comes.
Later never comes because Wilbur doesn't see Tommy for a week after that fight. Neither does Techno. Neither does Phil.
Tommy may as well be a ghost.
Coincidentally, it is the coldest and most miserable week the city has ever seen.
And for the first time since they became an uneven team, Wilbur can't help but wonder just where Tommy goes when he's not with them.
It's hard not to think about it, of course, when the storm rolling through the city seems to get worse.
And worse.
Wilbur sits by the window, watching the droplets of water roll down, as thunder booms outside, the dark, grey sky lit up with flashes of lightning. He hears a knock at the door, and sighs as he goes to open it, only to be met with a soaking wet Techno.
"Come in," He sighs, holding the door open wide and stepping to the side, allowing Techno in.
"You should get out of those clothes." Techno says gruffly, "You'll get sick."
Wilbur looks down at his dripping clothes that he hadn't bothered to change out of after hours of searching for Tommy in the storm. There's a puddle by the chair he was sat on, pooling around the legs and on the seat.
Wilbur grunts, "Why are you here?" He asks. Techno and Phil have hardly spoken a word to him since the incident with Tommy.
"You haven't seem him have you?" Techno asks shortly.
"No, I would tell you if I had," Wilbur responds, with a scoff.
"He's been missing for a week and a half Wil, aren't you worried?"
Wilbur gave a dry chuckle, "Why do you think I'm so wet,"
When Techno doesn't respond, only gives him a hard stare, Wilbur breaks.
"I didn't know," He says, with a sob, "I didn't know it was that important, and now we can't find him and what if he's out alone on the streets in this storm and he could be dead or injured or sick or something and it's all my fault it was so fucking petty," He cries, and Techno put's his arm around him, letting Wilbur cry into his shoulder.
"I would never do this if i had known, I didn't want to hurt him, just annoy him, he's my little brother Tech, I miss him," His voice breaks, and for the first time Techno can't help but feel a hint of pity.
"You need to apologise," He states.
"I know that," Wilbur sniffs, "I know, but I can't. He's gone,"
