The next day Phil gets a vague message from Techno telling him to come round, and concerned, he heads there immediately. When he is welcomed inside the home, and directed to Techno's spare room, he is met with the surprise of Tommy lying weakly on the bed. Tommy looks away as Phil says hello, unable to hide the burning shame that floods him.
"Oh my god," Phil whispered quietly, before entering the room, "Hey Tommy," he said, crouching down beside the bed.
Tommy turned away, rolling onto his side. "Hi Phil," He whispered.
"The place Wilbur destroyed... that was where you lived wasn't it," Phil said, more as a statement than a question.
Tommy nodded, and Techno walked over to sit next to them.
"Have you spoken to Wilbur?" Phil asked hesitantly, and Tommy shook his head quickly.
"No... I... no..."
"Mate... you have to speak to Wil at some point," Phil said gently.
"He's right kid, Wilbur's been frantic, he thinks he's killed you or something." Techno added.
"I... what if he hates me...?" Tommy said, looking up at Phil with wide eyes.
Phil sighed, shaking his head, "Mate, Wilbur has been so worried about you, he may have been a bit mad in the moment and made a stupid decision but he could never hate you. He hasn't stopped talking about how he just wants you back. How he wants his little brother back."
Tommy froze, "...brother?"
"Kid you're like family to us... you know that right?" Techno asked, slowly.
"I..." Tommy paused, looking at Techno with such a heartbroken expression, "... thank you,"
"Of course mate, we love you,"
But Tommy still refuses to speak to Wilbur. He misses him, of course he does. How could he not miss their little chats about nothing on the rooftops, or their playful banter, but he can't help that every time Wilbur is mentioned he freezes and his throat closes up and he just want's to hit something or cry and never stop crying.
Eventually it becomes too much for Wilbur, the guilt of thinking he's accidentally killed his little brother.
That's why one day Techno get's a call from Wilbur, and instead of the usual 'Please help me find Tommy' he get's an 'I'm sorry, goodbye'
