Sorry I meant to post this sooner in relation to what I said on my post but I went to New York the next day 🤠. Anyways, reconciliation? Kind of?
-----Yeji found the courage within her crushed heart to go to bed around four in the morning. It was a terrible time, really. Ryujin long asleep in their king sized bed, unable to talk things over. The brunette considered sleeping somewhere else, but that would give Ryujin the upper hand of comfort, and the last thing Yeji wanted Ryujin to be was comfortable after what had happened. That thought alone sickened her. What kind of lover would want their own partner to be uncomfortable?
Yeji, apparently. In her own head space she wasn't the only one guilty of being a bit toxic however. A bit sick. Ryujin murdered an innocent man just for sport, and that put her right up there with toxic. It was clear something had changed, and damn Yeji for trying to figure out what.
"Ryujin wake up." Yeji said, sitting up on her side of the bed, shaking the raven-haired's shoulder. "We need to talk." She said, seeing those dark, nearly black eyes open. It made her shiver, chills like no other than that of which Ryujin's eyes provided.
"About what?" Ryujin said, her voice cold, and smooth, lacking any trace of sleep at all.
"You weren't sleeping, were you?" Yeji asked, picking up on that small detail.
"Irrelevant." Ryujin replied, and then sat up, about to turn on the bedside light, but Yeji stopped her.
"I'd prefer we left the lights off." Yeji said, breath shaky. If they were going to have this conversation she needs the lights off. She needs Ryujin's expressions the least visible as possible.
"Okay..." Ryujin said, and relaxed against the headboard, looking at Yeji, giving her the first say.
"Why?" Is all Yeji said first, a tremor to her voice as she looks into the darkness at even more darkness.
"Why? That's what you want to know?" Ryujin chuckles a little before settling down, looking away. "I missed it." She simply said, Yeji blinking a few times, silent. "I missed the feeling of taking a life. Of controlling it." Ryujin further explains, to which Yeji sighs.
"Couldn't you have waited to find someone that deserved it?" The brunette replied, trying to understand.
"No, I couldn't. Normally I can but I couldn't." Ryujin shuffles a little. "I.. I really don't know why." The raven-haired goes quiet then, listening to the sound of Yeji's breathing.
"When you died-"
"I don't want to talk about it." Ryujin cut off, looking at Yeji in the dark room.
"If not now then when? What happened? You're not telling me everything." Yeji says, moving a little closer to the raven, daring. Ryujin just nods, and takes a deep breath.
"Lucifer, he's the one who got me out you know. I can't help but wonder if there's a price for being helped by him." Ryujin says, wondering but also knowing that's probably the case. She continues a bit, thinking back on her actions. "I'm sorry by the way.. I didn't mean what I said." Ryujin looks down at her lap, and Yeji can see the faint amount of shame even in her shadow.
"It sounded like you did. You sounded exactly like yourself, your nature." Yeji says, thinking back to how the raven left her in that bloodied room.
"I know..." Ryujin replies, her voice much softer, much more human. "I regret it." Ryujin breathes deeply, and then turns on the bedside light, making Yeji look away, unable to even look at her.
"I said that I'd prefer it if-"
"Stop." Ryujin cut her off again, and slowly moves a bit closer, the brunette tense when she feels Ryujin's arms wrapping around her, and pulling her close. It's unexpected, more so than the murder of an innocent man. "I know it was wrong. All of it."
