"Tanner come on we have to get ready for the wedding," Mya shakes me awake, for a tiny girl she sure is strong.
"I don't want to go, I told you this yesterday," I muttered into my pillow flipping it over when I felt a wet spot
"And when the hell have I ever listened to you?"
"Well you listened to me last night when I-"
"That is beside the point, get your ass up and get dress."
"I like it when you take control," I mutter turning onto my back, "why do we have to go again?"
"Because you invited me to meet your people, now get up I'm not going to tell you again! I have your clothes laid out for you and you need to wash your hair it looks nasty and greasy."
"Ugh, you and my mother would get along perfectly. You guys like to nag me to death."
"Tanner get the fuck up, we're going to be late. I hate the stereotype that black people are always late."
"Well you don't have to worry about that because this white gu- ah ow shit what the fuck is your problem?!" I snap rubbing the tender skin underneath my arm.
"What did I tell you I, get your ass up."
"When you become a mother you are going to be mean," I whine throwing my comforter off of me. "Do you want to take a shower with me?" I grab her before she walks out of the room wrapping my arms around her waist.
"Babe I already taken a shower," she laughs caressing my cheek.
"So take another one with me," I rest my head on top of hers.
"That is going to dry out my skin and waste products."
"Fine then," I push her away making my way to the bathroom, "and don't try to sneak in the shower with me, you had your chance."
"Trust me I won't," she laughs heading towards the living room.
"Whatever," I grab a clean towel out of the cabinets in the bathroom. I don't know about anybody else but I have to brush my teeth and wash my face before I get into the shower. I just feel complete when my face and mouth is clean then my body is clean. Now I know that there are some people that are
"Here babe I ironed your shirt and slack for you they were looking a bit wrinkle. They are hanging off the back of the door."
"Thanks," I said rinsing the shampoo out of my hair.
"Hey, do you think that your mom is going to like me?"
"Yeah why wouldn't she?" I push the curtains over looking at her.
"Well would she approve of you dating somebody different?"
"If you are going to pull that race crap I am going to pull you in the shower with me. But to answer your idiotic question if she does she does, if she doesn't oh well."
"It can't be oh well Tanner."
"Mya I don't think that you have notice but I really could care less with what my mother, or family, has to think about anything that has to deal with me. I didn't bring Harriett around when we were dating, nor did they really new about her."
"So I am the first girlfriend that you are bringing home to your family?"
"Not by choice," I mutter, but obviously she heard me since she snatched the curtains back invading my privacy.
"And what the hell is that suppose to mean?"
"Can we talk about this after I finish taking a shower?" I beg not wanting to argue while in the shower, it just seems awkward to me.
