As she walked to the library the pieces started to slowly make sense.
Will Graham, empath and profiler for the FBI was a fictional character in a book and a tv show about a bloody cannibal. She hadn't actually read the books but she had seen the show, dark gory shows about death had been one of her hobbies in her past life.
It had been a great show, full of artistic death scenes and with cannibalistic chef by night and a psychologist by day- Dr. Hannibal Lecter- who was also Will's psychologist and was kind of obsessed with him.
Will Graham had been an empath that could put himself on a killer's shoes while they murdered their victims. He was rude, antisocial, afraid of his empathy and had a bunch of dogs. He knew his way around boats and knew how to fish, and probably had a degree in Criminology. Some details were fussy, she had finished that show for quite some time before ending up in this body after all.
If Will was born Willow then it fit, not only in terms of abilities but also personality wise. Before she possessed this body the OG Willow was much like the Will from the show, she also had a lot of memories fishing in the swamp and helping her Pa fixing boats.
She always thought this empathy thing felt more like a fictional power than an actually scientifically proven thing, if she was in a fictional world in the female body of a fictional character then the shoe would fit perfectly. Of course she didn't remember Will actually using it to manipulate people's emotions like she did, but that was mostly because he lacked the control and practice she had acquired. he had taken the scientific way, she had taken the fantasy way
She still needed proof, she needed to be sure. She entered the library and quickly moved towards one of the two computers available for the students. Computers were still new and expensive, plus the internet was still in it's early stages, but maybe she could get some useful information.
She quickly opened the browser and searched Hannibal Lecter- she got basically no results from the name. Which made sense, even if it was true, Hannibal should be a Doctor right now. She then entered Baltimore Hospital in the search engine. The hospital had a website but no information on their resident doctors.
Willow frowned at the screen, she was down in Louisiana how could she verify if Hannibal was in Baltimore already or if the guy even existed? She quickly tried to search for Il Mostro di Firenze, remembering that before he came to America, Hannibal was already a Serial Killer in Italy. At that she did get a few websites, all of them in Italian unfortunately, but still enough to at least confirm that there was a serial killer in Italy by that name. pity there's no pictures of his early tableaus online
She let out a breath, not sure what to do with this information. Hannibal Lecter was most likely real, which made her 'Will' Graham. Honestly, she hadn't even been planning on being a police officer never mind an actual consultant for the FBI. Plus, she didn't really care who he killed and ate, it literally had nothing to do with her. he's real, I wonder how his food tastes like
However, she couldn't deny that it could be exciting. Catching killers, has Five had put it, sounded like a good game of hunting one's prey. There would also be a lot of death involved, and she did want to experiment with the emotions involved in death.
Still, she didn't want to be Will Graham. He was used and dragged like doll by the feds, often thought to be crazy and was even locked up by his own team. Sure, Hannibal manipulated the evidence but there was no one that actually gave him the benefit of the doubt. In fact, she often thought the guy's life was a bit pathetic as only the serial killer that often messed with his head seemed to actually give a damn about his existence. he should have just dumped the feds and ran away with the cannibal
She remembered another name, a character she didn't particularly enjoy much but still ran it thought the search engine- Jack Crawford FBI. Quickly enough the FBI page came up, and there it was- 100% proof she was actually in a fictional world. There it was, a picture of a much younger Jack Crawford, beneath it was his title FBI Profiler at the BSU Unit.
She looked at the picture in shock, and mumbled. "Nice face."
She slightly frowned at that, he looked exactly like the actor in the show minus a few years- she really didn't want to work for this guy. Jack and Will's relationship in the show actually looked like it was emotionally abusive, as the guy often used the possibility of more dead people to emotionally coarse Will into working for him even when sick or in the middle of the night. no one could mess with her sleep without dying painfully
Scrap that, she was no one's lap dog and she would not be used to catch the scent of killers for a guy like Crawford. It wasn't like he could emotionally coarse her either, she didn't care.
But FBI Agent, now that sounded interesting. According to her memory Will didn't actually pass the screening to be an agent, but to her that was a piece of cake. She had actually studied psychology before, she knew what she could and couldn't say in such a setting.
Rather quickly she decided that was what she would do, it sounded like a good plan. She would probably start of as a Homicide Detective, which would give her enough time to train her skills in investigation and then she would go for a FBI position and unlike Will she would rise to be even better than bloody Crawford. instead of ordering her, he should have to come beg for her help
And Hannibal, well Hannibal was still further down the line. She would deal with it when the time came, however as "Will" Graham she did feel like a bit of revenge should be served. She would play the game, but this time she would be the one in the know. maybe having a psychologist doesn't sound so bad
Unlike Will Graham, Willow was a cat person and cat's do enjoy playing with their food.
