Sickie/Little: Jake

Caregiver: Jay

No one's POV.:

Jake had already felt a little off when they made their way to the airport. He had a gut feeling that something was about to go wrong and kept scanning the crowds to make sure his group was safe. Heeseung could tell the younger was on edge and stuck close to him as they walked through the cramped halls. There were cameras flashing everywhere around them, fans screaming but all Jake heard was the blood pumping in his ears. It was all he heard really, his heat racing. There were two hands on his arms and he was gently pushed to sit down on a bench. "Breathe", Heeseung instructed, keeping his hands on the other's shoulders, "It's okay. Just breathe." Jake trembled as he drew a shaky breath. Somewhere close by, he could hear Jay's voice asking what was going on. "Hey, you're okay", Jay whispered, trading places with Heeseung, "Can you look at me?" Eyes glistening with unshed tears, Jake looked at his hyung. Jay crouched in front of him, keeping one hand on the boy's knee.

"We're past the crowds. Only about twenty more minutes till we can board the plane", the older hummed, "You don't usually get this anxious in crowds. What was it that got to you so bad?" Jake shrugged and drew a deep breath. It was true, he didn't usually get anxious, at least not like this. "I- I dunno", he muttered, wiping his eyes, "I feel like something's about to- 'bout to go wrong and-" Squeezing his knee, Jay reminded him to breathe as he watched the color drain from his face. "Gosh, I really- I really don't want to go on that plane, hyung", Jake rambled, working himself up again. Heeseung and Jungwon had luckily taken the other members a little distance away to give the pair some privacy and to not frighten anyone else. Clutching Jay's hand, Jake whimpered: "Something's going to happen, hyung. I can feel it in my gut. Please, can we not go on that plane?" The Aussie was starting to feel like he was going to be sick, eyes darting across the waiting area for the closest trashcan or restroom. "We'll be fine and everything will be okay", Jay shushed him, growing more worried that maybe his dongsaeng's intuition was right and something was about to happen to their plane because he had never seen the younger so panicked about going on a flight.

When Jake suddenly got to his feet, all Jay could do was follow him as he speed-walked to the restroom. The boy was ghostly pale by the time he shouldered the door open, his mouth watering. Jay patiently rubbed his dongsaeng's back as he retched up his meager breakfast. Already sweating buckets, Jake didn't even notice how tears mixed into the droplets running down his face. Outside the restroom, they could hear their flight being announced and they both knew they should join the rest of the group to board the plane but Jake's stomach was still in knots. Tearing off a wad of toilet paper, Jay wiped the sweat and tears off the Aussie's face before grabbing more to dab at his lips. "Come on, let's go rinse your mouth and wash your hands", the older whispered, guiding Jake to the sink, "I have some gum in my bag and I bet one of the others bought some water since the last security check."

Lightly swaying on his feet, Jake stumbled along to join the line and held onto Sunghoon while Jay rummaged through his bag. "Thanks", the Aussie mumbled, accepting the bottle of water Heeseung handed him. Shakily popping a piece of gum between his lips before leaning into Jay's side again. The older kept one arm around his waist as the line moved and whispered: "Once we found our seats, Niki and I will trade, so I'll be sitting right next to you, okay? Take a few deep breaths for me." Jake usually responded well to Jay's attempts at calming him down. It was why Jay had become the younger's main caregiver when he had outed himself as a little but for some reason not even Jay could keep him calm today. "I have a change of clothes in my backpack if you wanna borrow a t-shirt. Yours is really sweaty", Sunghoon commented softly from where he stood on Jake's other side, rubbing his back to comfort him. Jake gave a small nod. He already felt disgusting as it was, so anything to not have to spend the next few hours in a sweat-damp shirt.
