"I can't believe it's almost been a year since you moved in," seungmin brought up. hyunjin sat in his living room, sipping his evening coffee.
the older looked around the walls that surrounded him. the house was finally put together, photographs of his loved ones on the wall, most consisting of seungmin and jeongin. there were plants and flowers everywhere, curtesy of the one and only kim seungmin.
hyunjin put his mug down and walked over to where his lover stood in the kitchen, wrapping his hands around his waist. he placed his chin on seungmin's shoulder, soaking in his lovely scent. grabbing his waist, he spun him around to face him. seungmin blushed at the action, moving onto his tiptoes to place a small kiss on the older's lips.
"best decision i ever made" he looked lovingly at the younger. seungmin placed his head against hyunjin's chest, right where his heart sat. he could sometimes feel the way the older's heart would speed up every time he was near. seungmin absolutely adored those moments.
they didn't stay that way for long, as seungmin felt the older's phone vibrate in his pocket. detaching himself, hyunjin pouted. "i'll be right back, i just need to take this call really quick," he signed as he answered the phone and walked away.
seungmin watched him from afar, leaning against the counter, as he rested his head on the palm of his hand. sometimes, he hated when hyunjin would walk away when he was on a call. he had to wait inpatiently until the boy hung up to ask him what the call consisted of.
his attention was on maximum this time as he saw the way his boyfriend's face lit up while conversing on the phone. he was itching to know what on earth was happening. he could catch few words when hyunjin would face him, but not enough to put everything together.
the moment the phone went down, seungmin came rushing in, asking him a million of questions. hyunjin laughed, ushering him to calm down. it only made the younger jump up more.
"what happened? oh tell me tell me tell me, please, please!!" seungmin begged. hyunjin pretended to think about it, but stopped when the other hit him behind the head.
"I got the job," hyunjin grinned widely. seungmin screamed. straight up screeched. it was a new sound for the older. hyunjin didn't have time to react before seungmin jumped onto him, wrapping his legs around his waist.
hyunjin smiled into the embrace, wrapping his own arms around him. he spun him around, as seungmin giggled into his neck.
hyunjin slowly placed him back on the floor, still smiling wide.
"i'm so proud of you!," seungmin expressed. hyunjin pressed his lips against both of his hands in return.
"you are now looking at the newly renounced sign language professor of +++ university!" he proudly bragged. seungmin pulled his face close, planting kisses all over his face. this only made hyunjin flustered.
can you tell they're in love?
"we must celebrate!" seungmin exclaimed as he began looking for his phone. hyunjin leaned against the wall.
"i know a good way we can celebrate," he winked at the younger.
"behave yourself," he glared at the boy. hyunjin pouted. at least he tried.
"you should call jisung, and felix and invite them over for dinner," seungmin suggested. the older didn't see anything wrong with that idea and agreed.
seungmin went off to gather everything he needed, even stepping out to his own house to collect certain things he lacked. not even ten minutes later, and there was a knock on the door.
hyunjin slid across the floor with his socks, and swiftly opened the door. seungmin thought he looked silly doing that, but he knew the older had fun so he let it be.
"hey, man! we're happy to hear the news," jisung congratulated the older as he pulled him into a hug. once they pulled away, felix stuck out his hand.
"brownies for you, mr hwang," felix said formally. hyunjin accepted them, dragging the two boys inside.
"seungminnie!" jisung yelled at the top of his lungs, running to the kitchen and hopping onto the boy. The younger didn't see him coming, as he ended up dropping his pan on the floor, causing an even louder sound for the others to deal with.
"i missed you, hyung" seungmin signed once they pulled away. jisung ruffled his hair.
"and i missed you even more," he replied back. after meeting seungmin, he promised the younger that he'd work hard to learn sign. it seemed like those words paid off as now, he rarely struggled to communicate with him.
the same went for felix. he started picking up the language much easier and quicker than his friend, seeing as he already had experience learning other languages from studying abroad.
now, when they all gathered together, the trio usually spoke out loud and signed, making sure seungmin never missed out on a single thing. hyunjin made that loud and clear.
once they were able to get comfortable, the group sat down at the table, hyunjin happily setting it up as seungmin finished up cooking. felix had offered various times to help in any way, but the couple were quick to turn him down. jisung would just watch, not seeing the point in offering since he was a guest and sure as hell was hungry.
alas, seungmin finished the salad he had been working so hard on. feeling accomplished, he skipped over to the table, setting the dish down.
everyone was astonished to see the amount of food on the table, even hyunjin, who should have been used to it by now.
"you are a blessing, kim seungmin," jisung said, proudly being the first to dig in. seungmin smiled, always feeling full just by watching others eat. soon enough, everyone else followed him, grabbing their proportions as they wished.
"you eat like a pig" felix judged the boy beside him. jisung simply shrugged, too focused on the meal in front him to care about what he looked like.
"no wonder you don't have a boyfriend," felix added on, poking more fun at his friend. jisung side eyed him, pausing mid bite.
"first of all, i believe love comes naturally, my time will come, just you watch and second of all, it doesn't seem like you're doing any better in that field," he expressed with his hands only, since his mouth was still full. felix stuck up his middle finger at him.
no need to know sign language to understand what he said.
the couple in front of them laughed, not expecting anything less from their friends. the two boys were notorious for arguing and pissing each other off. it was all fun and games at the end of the night, since they would skip back home together.
hyunjin felt an overwhelming feeling overtake his heart. this was home to him now. no longer would he have to spend late nights convincing himself that he made the right choice, because in that moment, there was no other choice.
he turned to look at his boyfriend. seungmin tilted his head, his glasses riding down his nose. "what?" he questioned.
the older said nothing, simply caressing his cheek and placing a soft kiss on the boy's forehead.
