jeongin felt a nudge on his left side as he took a sip of his coke. confused, he turned his head to see wooyoung staring at him intensely.

"yea?" he looked at him. wooyoung signaled towards something with his eyes. turning his attention, he caught sight of hyunjin and seungmin saying their goodbyes to their parents.

jeongin was celebrating his 17th birthday today. his parents pushed him to invite his friends over, and jeongin being the clingy little brother he was, begged hyunjin to stop by, advising him to bring seungmin along too.

"is that your brother?"

the boy tilted his head, as he noticed the way wooyoung was checking hyunjin out.

"ew, do not tell me you have a crush on him," he gave him a look of disgust. wooyoung immediately got defensive.

"i do not! he's just a lot hotter than I remember him being," jeongin rolled his eyes.

"well, forget about it. he's way older than us, plus that's his boyfriend beside him! have some respect," jeongin exclaimed, not enjoying this conversation whatsoever.

wooyoung smirked. "age is just a number, baby!"

"you're disgusting,"

with that, jeongin stood up on his two feet and walked over to where hyunjin and seungmin were. the younger of the two beamed at him.

"jeongin! we're just about to get going" seungmin said.

"do you have to go?," jeongin pouted. seungmin felt his heart ache at the sight of the boy, hyunjin was used to it though.

"i'm tired, innie. come by tomorrow if you miss us that much," he said straight up. jeongin flicked his forehead in return.

"you're mean to me, i like seungmin hyung more than you,". seungmin raised his eyebrows and turned to look at his boyfriend.

"did you hear that? he likes me more!"

hyunjin simply shrugged. "whatever, i'll be fine,". he pulled jeongin in, hugging him tightly, while the boy tried his best escaping. hyunjin only laughed at his efforts, tightening his grip.

"can't... breathe!" he struggled to say. that's when hyunjin decided to let go. seungmin followed, giving the younger boy a big embrace, one that he much rather preferred as his life wasn't on the line for it.

"don't forget to open my gift and let me know what you think of it," seungmin advised the younger. jeongin happily shook his head, allowing his braces to become visible from smiling so big.

the love he had for seungmin grew over time. he just about viewed him as another brother from how much time they've spent together since hyunjin and seungmin started dating three years ago. now it seemed that whenever jeongin requested his hyung's presence, he was required to be accompanied by his lover, no exceptions.

"alright, bye everyone, bye jeongin, mom, dad," hyunjin said, as he went by planting kisses on each of his relatives. seungmin opted out for hugs instead.

he was extremely close with the older's family by now, practically being a part of it himself. once hyunjin's family found out that seungmin was deaf, they too took it upon themselves to learn sign. they weren't able to pick up as much as their son's friends, but they tried their best.

"bye, babies, get home safe, whichever home you end up going to," hyunjin's mom teased. hyunjin didn't want to go through more embarrassment, so he took seungmin's hand and ran out, not looking back.

they were still neighbors.

they've had conversations here and there about moving in together, but they could never come to an agreement over which house they would end up taking over. that is why they would alternate each week, finding it silly, but they enjoyed doing so. the only one opposed to this system was mimi.
