It had been some time since Xiao had decided to Adopt Momo as his daughter...even slipped a ring on y/n as well to further cement the idea that they were now a family..A family that was now in danger...more specifically....y/n.
He had found her...She had completely forgotten the bank in Liuye and that it was CHILDES BANK in specific...Y/N was originally shopping in the market when her and another man both reached for the same bag of crab legs, Y/n looked up to apologize but only froze in terror when her eyes met HARD Cerulean eyes staring right back at her with just as much shock. Y/n had fled in that moment with him calling out her name and giving chase.....which leads up to now...
Y/N was panting hard and running as fast as she could while taking as many sharp turns as she could at Every corner she could take, She could not go back, not now...not now after she JUST got a family of her own....Momo...Momo was with Aether and Zhongli at the Funeral home...Xiao was out hunting.....hunting that's it!! Y/N took another sharp turn and narrowly dodged Childes grasp and jumped straight off one of the bridges, narrowly making it across the water and onto solid land on the other side.
"Y/N!!! STOP RUNNING DAMN IT!!!" Childe yelled, his face beet red as he was panting and tried to jump only for a Fatui Agent to Blast the water to freeze it for him to run across. Shit...Cryomancers....Y/N growled loudly and began sprinting again, but she was tired, she was very VERY tired because the night before Momo kept her up because of her hunger...and now she was paying the price. She Kept running as hard as she could but Childe was already slowly gaining on her, his hand reaching out towards her before he finally took the leap and slammed into her back hard, sending them both tumbling and spiraling down the hill, Y/N kicking and screaming and even using her Vision to keep blasting his face with boiling hot air trying to escape from his grasp.
"LET GO OF ME!! IM NOT GOING BACK!! GET OFF ME SO I CAN KILL YOU!!!" y/n screamed as she kept wrestling with Childe before he finally pinned her hard to the ground and huffed.
"I'm NOT trying to take you back to the Fatui!" Childe Shouted back, he was sweating and panting very hard, clearly winded himself from having to chase Y/n around so much.
"Just LISTEN to me before you try to kill me! WHERE is our child?? That's ALL I want to know! What did you do with them?? you're not pregnant, you clearly got your strength back to flee and fight! So where are there?!" Why did childe want to know where the baby was?? Y/N didn't believe that it was parental care at all and simply snarled and snapped her teeth at childe, making him jerk his head back away from her.
"Damn it y/n! WHERE IS MY KID??" He yelled in her face, making her head butt him really hard, forcing him to hiss in pain.
"She's NOT YOUR DAUGHTER! AND SHE'S NOT THE FATUI'S PLAYTHING!!!" Y/N screamed back before she Struggled again and hissed, She knew she was no match for childe she was the lower rank after all...but...she had one thing that he didn't.... With a deep breath she let out a loud scream that began shifting the wind around them, amplifying her voice to a deafening sound, making Childe yell and cover his ears before he was blasted off and sent skidding across the ground while Y/N continued to scream one single name....
"XIAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Y/N screamed out as she scrambled back from Childe to try and gain some distance between her and the ginger male. Her back slammed against Xiao's chest as he knelt down and helped her to her feet while she was coughing and trying to catch her breath.
"y/n I'm here it's alright....Are you injured?" Xiao asked before examining her over and noticed the bruising and cuts from the fall down the hill and over the rocks, his eyes hardened even further as he glanced over at Childe with a snarl.
"You did this to her...to my Wife....Have you a death wish Fatui scum?!" Xiao hissed as his aimed his spear at Childe.
"Ghh...hah..haha.. What if I do Adeptis? What are you going to do?? She is the mother of MY child And I'm taking her AND our daughter back!" Childe retorted while he stood up and pulled his bow out, aiming it at Xiao.
"So if you don't wish to be a pincushion...you'll give me the mother of my daughter to me now..." Y/N couldn't believe her ears....HIS Woman?? Mother of HIS Child???? She would NEVER let that happen.
"You are not my Daughters Father... He is." Y/N said as she finally willed the strength to summon her own weapon and aimed at Childe next to Xiao.
"He married me. He took the role of fatherhood...you will NEVER see my daughter for as long as we breath!"
"...Very poor choice of words Y/N. I wasn't asking. The Fatui want you dead. but you gave me offspring...so I'll just hide you and her away...safe with no financial struggles. you don't get a choice!" Childe said as he fired his arrows, making Xiao and Y/N jump in opposite directions to avoid the attacks, Y/n Went on the left side and swung her own blade at Childe, making him clash his dagger with hers and growled with a grin on his face.
"What happened to your Scythe? you used to man handle me with that thing like a machine~" Childe cooed before he hissed and jumped back as Xiao stabbed at the ground, forcing Childe to back away and huff.
"I don't have time for a two on one....Y/N...you're not in the god of contracts city...you're in MY City......When next we meet...you'll be in bindings with OUR daughter being escorted to the bank..." Childe said in a chilling voice before he teleported away.
Once Xiao was sure that Childe truly left the area, he walked over to Y/N and gently gripped her shoulder to try and comfort her in his own way as best as he could.
"Y/N....are you alright?" He asked, but when he got no response he slowly walked in front of her and saw the tears rolling down her face along with the face of pure horror, Her hand slowly began to tremble violently as she slowly slumped to the ground, forcing Xiao to catch her and sit with her in the grass.
"H-he's...going to find my little one....he's....he's mad....he never wanted kids...where did this desire to be a family come from in him...?" Y/n asked, her voice shaking as she leaned against Xiao's shoulder, making him Grunt at the sudden thump but he made no other sounds as he rubbed her back while slowly laying his head on top of hers.
"I...do not know. but...we are....a family...we'll protect each other...AND our daughter.. I'm still learning about....family and all of this...but I know enough...to know that we're partners...and it's okay to be afraid of the unknown sometimes...It's human nature...right?" Xiao said as he looked at Y/N with a softer expression in his eyes.
"I know I'm not the best...and I married you to solidify this family unit..but I will learn more...but if it helps...Learning all this in a short time? Scares me." He continued, making Y/n finally look over at him in slight surprise.
"The Great Xiao, Afraid of learning new human terms and such?" She asked, this made Xiao flush red and huff as he looked away.
"D-don't mock me! Lest you forget I am a War machine, a tool doing his—"
"Tools don't get married, Tools don't adopt Children to protect them. Tools don't eat food, smile, feel anger, concern. none of that. you are NOT a Tool." Y/n said as she bumped her head against his and sighed.
"....WE are not tools....we're....human in a way...only human...but...I want to go see our little Momo now...."
"....Agreed...I finished my tasks for the day."
