It was quiet in Liuye, almost too quite before a scream of pain erupted and the birds scattering to the four winds with terror as Aether was carrying y/n from the house they were renting out and heading to the nearest medical professional, Y/N's worst fear came to pass, the baby was coming early, so very early...!! Y/N's water had broken when she woke up, and shortly before Aether could process what happened, Y/n was screaming in pure agony, waking up the whole street.

With Aether running with a few other people following after him with blankets and other items, they sped past a grown male with long brown hair and Golden eyes, he was drinking his tea and took one sniff of the air before standing up to follow the flock of people with the pregnant woman. Y/N was eventually sent in with the doctors and nurses, Aether was pacing anxiously while a few of the neighbors that followed the two were trying to help Aether with advice and other words of wisdom, soon the tall brown haired male came walking in and seemed to catch Aether's attention. Browns and golds adorn the man as he seemed to stare with a gentle but curious expression at where Y/N was taken. Aether eventually approached the man and cleared his throat.

"I'm so sorry for the early morning Commotion sir..." Aether said before the man looked down at Aether and smiled with a deep chuckle.

"No need to apologize my friend, it is not our place to Judge when a child should or should not be born. Was that your wife?" The man asked making Aether sputter and shake his head.

"No no! she's not my wife! she's...someone I see as a sister..."

"Then where is her husband?"

"We....don't know..well I don't know. she said there is no husband" Aether admitted while scratching her head as he looked away, the man seemed to notice and pat Aether on the shoulder gently.

"It sounds to me...she ran away from who ever it was. And is trying to hide.. Maybe I could be of assistance? My name is Zhongli, I....work at a coffin house." Zhongli said making Aether look up with wide eyes before everyone except for Zhongli flinched when Y/N screeched loudly in pain from the birthing room. Aether looked like he wanted to go in there and help his sister figure but Zhongli grabbed his shoulder and shook his head with a stern expression.

"I do not suggest that..any disruptions could be fatal.." He warned Aether gently, making the blonde sigh and clasp his hands together with anxiety. He so desperately wanted to make sure Y/N was alright, but Zhongli was also right....if he stormed in now....he could be the death of her, the baby or both.....Zhongli closed his eyes and seemed to whisper a name to the wind before the next couple of hours of waiting truly began....

It was slowly becoming Evening, the hours long and painful as Zhongli and Aether were the last two people to stay and wait for Y/n and the status of her and the baby... Aether was sitting on one of the chairs, shaking his leg with anxiety as he continued to wait...before too much longer, the doors opened and a nurse came out looking at the two males.

"Beggin your pardon...which one of you is the father?" The Nurse asked, Aether was about to stand up and explain the opposite to her, but Zhongli took a step forward and nodded his head.

"That would be me... this young man beside me is her brother." Zhongli said without missing a beat, Aether stared up at Zhongli with wide eyes before he was dragged along side the taller man into Y/N's room without another warning.

Once inside the room, Y/n was laying in the bed holding a bundle in her arms, she looked beyond exhausted but also so excited to see her little trouble maker in her arms. Aether ran over to Y/n with relief and gently hugged into her shoulders as best as he could.

"Thank the Archons you're alright...! you and your daughter both!" Aether said as Zhongli came in and sat down next to the bed; Y/N looked up and stared at Zhongli with confusion, not realizing who he was until Aether whispered to her what was going on.

"He's pretending to be your husband, the Nurse wouldn't of let us in otherwise I'm guessing..." He whispered while Zhongli smiled his head and bowed his head slightly to Y/N.

"And how are you feeling my dear?" He asked when the Nurse was still close to the door, listening in to their conversation. Y/N frowned but soon let out a sigh and nodded to Zhongli with a 'wife like' smile.

"Doing much better now that our Daughter is finally born." she said while The Nurse seemed to relax and walked away after hearing the confirmation. Aether checked the door to make sure no one else was listening in before looking back with a sigh.

"I'm sorry you had to get involved Mister Zhongli...but thank you for allowing us to see sis...I--" Zhongli held his hand up with a smile and shook his head, a deep chuckle erupting from his throat as he looked over to Y/N and the sleeping baby girl in her arms.

"I know what Y/N came here for. She would often pray to me for help and guidance. isn't that right? Mother of Death?" Zhongli asked, making Y/n freeze up with terror in her eyes, slowly she looked over to Zhongli who still held his same gentle smile and chuckled again when she opened and shut her mouth like a fish for a few moments.

"H-How did you--"

"Know you are an Ex Fatui running away from the said Fatui? My dear I am the Archon you were praying to that entire month you were trying to escape from your little prision." Zhongli said before he closed his eyes with a sigh.

"I even made a contract with you, per your request, That should you make it and the baby is born in my realm, that you would use your abilities to assist me and my people for as long as I desired." He continued while Y/N and Aether stared with wide eyes, Y/N stared long and hard at Zhongli before she began smile, tears running down her face  as she nodded her head.

"Y-yes! I did agree to that with you!" Y/N cried out with relief; Finally...finally finally she and her baby were safe...free...
