Never did she think she'd have to run again... who was she kidding, she knew she'd have to run again.. but never did she think the Fatui would catch up to her this fast. The camp burned; They slaughtered the Hilichurls; they slaughtered her little tribe. So all she could do was run, knowing full well that Childe was on her heels, his breathing hard as he followed her through the snowy mountains.

" Y/N!! Stop running and get back here!! I said stop damn it!!" Childe roared out over the howling winds; He was slowly losing sight of the pregnant woman in this snowy fog that was consuming his vision and he knew that if he lost her now, both she and their baby would be gone and that thought chilled Childe to the very core. But soon the snowstorm became too much and too heavy for him to see. He whipped his head around and couldn't find y/n anymore and screamed in anger as he punch a nearby tree repeatedly before he turned away and ran back towards the Fatui camps. As he left, y/n slowly peaked out from behind some boulders. Clutching her swollen stomach she panted with relief once she realized that Childe had given up the chase for now; This allowed her to continue her journey through the snow towards Liyue. She knew this was not a healthy thing to do, especially for her baby but what choice did she have? Let the Fatui lock her up and take away the baby and turn it into a monster?? No, she'd rather die than let that happen.  She just hoped that she'd make it out of the snow in time before the frostbite took hold of her.

" I...finally...made it..." y/n gasped out as she walked over another bridge and spotted the Wangshuu Inn in the distance. By the aspects this walk was painful for her; her feet were beginning to swell from the pregnancy and her back was on fire. She didn't know if she could walk anymore and decided to lean against the bridge railings to rest for a little while. While she was resting, she began to hear the chatter of a girl and a boy approaching, Travelers? Looks like she wasn't the only one thankfully, and even more so once she saw them in view. The blonde was a very attractive young man who seemed to have a floating companion; they were talking casually which made y/n's heart melt with peace, It didn't take long for her to sit up to try and greet them, only to whine in pain and lean back again to let her back keep resting. Curse this heavy pregnancy weight She cursed herself before there was a halt in steps.

"Excuse me? Ma'am are you alright?" y/n blinked a few times before looking up and almost yelped seeing the blonde male so close now. He seemed to be curious and even concerned about her wellbeing, When she opened her mouth to speak she could only groan in pain and grip her back again with a loud sigh and shakes her head, giving up on what little dignity she had left.

" Thank you for the concern but no I am not alright my friend... I am heavily pregnant by 6 months and almost four weeks now..." y/n admitted making the blonde male widen his eyes in surprise as he glanced between her eyes and then her now obviously swollen stomach. He looked embarrassed as if he just realized his foolishness, not that y/n minded of course, he looked like the type to make eye contact first and THEN examine the body after being polite. The boy began to stutter a little as he tried to regain his composure.

" I-I'm so sorry I didn't look! What are you doing all the way out here? did you travel alone?"  He asked while his floating companion flew around y/n's head with wide eyes.

" Paimon was wondering that too! How did you get out here? Don't you have a husband or family that's supposed to be helping you?" The Floating creature known as paimon asked making y/n scowl and shake her head.

" I don't have a husband and no family to speak of-" y/n said before an idea popped into her head. Maybe these two can get her Lapis Rex!! She began to smile a little before looking at the boy and gripping his hands in her own, making him flush red as he glanced between her and their hands with wide eyes.

"M-maybe you can help me!! you see, I'm supposed to see the Geo Aspect Lapis Rex as per a contract I made. Could you please help me get to the city so that I may finally rest in a safe location?" y/n asked with the best pitiful expression that she could muster. The boy looked even more flustered but nodded his head regardless with a smile.

" O-Of course! I was actually heading there to try and meet him myself! we can travel together, but maybe resting at the Inn would be a good first step, especially with how uh...swollen you are?" the boy said making y/n look down and notice that her feet were indeed looking more swollen than usual. With a sigh, she nodded in agreement and slowly stood up straight with the boy's help. Just as y/n finally stood up, she yelped as the boy scooped her up into his arms with ease and began to walk towards the Inn.

" W-what are you doing?? I can walk I assure-"

" Ma'am, with all due respect, your feet are swollen and red, if you walked like this, you might hurt yourself and stumble." The boy retorted before y/n could finish her thought. She sighed and nodded her head as the boy kept walking before she looked up at him again.

" I forgot to ask your name.." y/n muttered making the boy widen his eyes and sputter a little.

" Oh, that's right!! I'm Aether! And you are?"

" y/n, a pleasure to meet you Aether."  Y/n responded with a smile.  Aether...He seemed like a very kind young man, very kind but very hurt...Just like her.
