Chapter 15

The next morning, Anirudh got freshened smiling. He can't believe that Bondita has come back and forgave him. She asked to be friends. He looked at the mirror and smiled like an idiot. He went down to the hall and saw Bondita setting up the table.

A- Good morning.

Bondita looked at him and smiled.

B- Good morning, Anirudh.

Hearing Bondita calling Anirudh by his name, everyone looked at them. 

Kaka- Bondita Beti, are u, ok?

Bondita- Yes, I am ok. Why? She asked confused.

Kaka- Well you called him Anirudh instead of Barrister Babu. That's why I asked.

B- He is my friend. Calling a friend by his name is not a problem Kaka. Isn't it Anirudh? She looked at him.

A- Bondita is correct Kaka. He said smiling back.

B- Everyone come have breakfast. I made it. 

Everyone sat at the table. 

B- Anirudh, here is your coffee. 

A- Thanks. He then took a sip. He felt nostalgic. He missed the taste so much. He loves Bondita's handmade coffee. Ever since Bondita left for London, he quit drinking coffee. 

Everyone ate their breakfast and complemented Bondita for the food. Later, everyone went to their respective jobs. Bondita and Anirudh went to the court. 

Initially, everyone made fun of Bondita. But will Bondita sit quietly. No. She gave befitting reply by taking a difficult case. She managed to win the case. Ever since her win, she was seen with a new light by everyone. They respected her. The people of Tulsipur started to send their daughters to school. They saw how Bondita became, and this inspired the people to send their daughters to school. They started to realize that daughters are not a burden.

Anirudh and Bondita's friendship were going well. Anirudh slowly started to fall for her. Bondita always helped him and took care of him. He didn't want to accept his feelings for her. But everything changed one day.

One weekend

Everything was going as usual. Bihari saw a car coming towards the haveli. Two people came out of the car. It was Karan and Siddharth. Bihari went inside.

Bihari- Bade Malik, Karan Beta and Siddharth Beta has come. 

Kaka- Karan and Sid Beta. What are you waiting for. Go prepare snacks. Now go.

Kaka went to the door. Karan and Siddharth smiled seeing Kaka. 

Karan- Good afternoon, Kaka. How are u and the others? He took blessing. Siddharth also did the same.

Kaka- I am fine and so are the others. Come in.

They went inside and sat. Bihari brought the snacks. 

Sid- I heard Bondita came back. Where is she?

Kaka- Yes. Bondita Beti has come back. Wait I will call her. BONDITA BETI, LOOK WHO HAS COME TO MEET YOU. He shouted.

Bondita- Coming Kaka. She replied back. 

They heard footsteps and saw Bondita. Karan was looking at her. He can't believe how much beautiful she has become. Not that she wasn't before. Siddharth went and hugged her.

Sid- How are u Bondu?

B- I am fine Sid. Sorry I didn't tell you about my arrival. Wanted to give a surprise to you guys.

Sid- Hmm. I thought you forgot about me.

B- Oh... how can I forget you. You are my monkey friend. She teased him.

Sid- Bondu... I am not a monkey. He pouted.

Bondita and Karna laughed seeing his face.

Karan- How are you? You look beautiful. 

B- Thank you Karanji. I am fine. What about you? She said blushing.

Karan- Fine here. 

Kaka- Ok, you youngsters can talk, I will go now. He left.

B- Come guys. All of them went to her room.

Anirudh was going to his study when he saw Karan and Siddharth going with Bondita towards her room. He frowned. He went towards them. 

Bondita's room

Karan- So, now you are Barrister Babu Bondita. How do u feel?

B- It's a great feeling. It's like a new me. I can't believe I could do it. Many times, I wanted to come back but I then always think about bad things that is happening here, so it motivated me to study hard. I made quite good friends too. 

S- So u replaced us. Very bad.

Bondita laughed.

B- No. I didn't replace you nor I ever will. What about you guys.

Karan- Well I of course became a lawyer. Dadaji also helped me.

Sid- I started teaching in school. 

B- Wow. You even teach. Do you even teach properly. She teased him

Sid- Bondu. Stop that. He whined.

Everyone laughed. Anirudh came there.

A- Karan and Siddharth. When did you guys come?

Karan- Just some time ago. How are u?

A- Fine. Why did u come? He said irritated seeing Bondita smiling at Karan.

Sid- Why? Can't we come here?

B- Nothing like that Sid. Anirudh was just asking. Right, Anirudh? She looked at him.

Sid- ANIRUDH! Since, when did you call him with his name. He asked Bondita.

A- She is my friend. Friends call each other by their names. Why? Do you have any problem. He asked.

Seeing the atmosphere getting tense, Bondita asked Anirudh to sit with them. Bondita told them about her journey in London. Siddharth and Anirudh were glaring at each other while Karan was looking at Bondita with loving eyes. 

Anirudh could see the way Karan look at Bondita. He felt jealous. He wanted to beat Karan. He didn't know what to do. 

Sid- So Bondu, did you have any boyfriend in college.

B- No I didn't. But I did have many boys who proposed me. But I rejected them.

Anirudh looked at her. He wanted to kill those boys. Karan felt bad that some boys proposed Bondita, but he felt relieved that Bondita rejected them. 

A- What about you Siddharth? Do you have any girlfriend?

B- I don't think so Anirudh. Who would like this monkey? She laughed.

Sid- Bondu, many girls proposed me too, okay. I was the heartthrob. 

Karan- Whatever makes you sleep my dear brother. All of them laughed.

A- What about you Karan? Do you have a girlfriend? 

Bondita looked at Anirudh, then at Karan. She was waiting for his answer.

Karan- I don't have any girlfriend. But I love a girl. He looked at Bondita.

Bondita didn't know why she felt her heartbeat rising seeing Karan looking at her. Does Karan love her or is she just imagining. Anirudh didn't want to make a scene but when he saw Karan looking at Bondita while saying he loves a girl, he wanted to punch Karan's face. He was angry.
