he couldn't move. as if some other-worldly being was stopping him from getting up and running the fuck away from here. heck, he doesn't even have anything left in him to scream- eyes wide in horror at the gruesome sight that unveiled before him.

this wasn't right.

this... everything isn't right.

the poor boy couldn't comprehend anything anymore, helplessly watching as his dear sister- his precious ophelia who was once the incarnation of an archangel. a young girl who upholds magnanimity and the ability to abet those who are in need- transform into this... this beast.

it was like god has fully abandoned her and clipped her off her wings, leaving her to fall from eternity's abode, and into the infernal depths of hell- making her one of the souls who lament on sins that they did not commit.

"ophelia..." finally, he spoke up. his voice in a low, almost inaudible whisper, steadily reaching out to the young girl.

the said girl looked at him, grey eyes filled with what can one call as vacuous with no thought in them.

"yes?" her voice dripped in faux affection- but he knew otherwise.

"why... why did you do this?" tears couldn't help but form themselves on his once impervious eyes, hunching over the ground as his body shook as he wept.

"you... this- have you become a monster?"

ophelia couldn't help but let out a breathy chuckle, looking back down on the scene that she has created. indeed, this can't be an act of a so-called angel- this was done by a raging devil who holds no remorse to humanity.

'if the real owner of this body were to hear that... how would she feel?'

'would she perish in anguish, now that the only person she cared for now sees her as nothing more than a malevolent beast? or will she agree and drown in self-pity?'

the lilac-haired girl turned her back on the mangled bodies of their parents, walking in a slow and placid pace until she was standing above her brother. the male didn't dare look up, keeping his eyes down as his heart thumped in a quickened pace. his chest ached- not for his parents, but for what has become of his sister.

"niccolo." her voice was hushed, and in this moment, niccolo almost forgot all about her faults. his dear sister that he has raised preciously throughout the years who would call out to him in a sanguine timbre- he'd give up everything to feign ignorance and turn a blind eye on all of this.

but he can't.

he just can't.

a tender hand placed themselves on his chin, lifting his head up as their eyes met. and in this moment, he knew that ophelia- his sister who couldn't even lay her hand on an insect nor raise her voice, was long gone. for he felt as if he was staring into the eyes of an archfeind.

the moonlight casted a gentle glow around her being, as if taunting him as it made her look seraphic amongst all the gore that ensued.

"this dear sister of yours... is indeed the devil."

'if ophelia were to hear me right now... would she agree?'
