The Kitsune Tribe

Two days had passed since Hunter revealed to Katherine and Kali that they had to travel back to the past to find the missing relic in order for Katy to achieve all nine tails of the Kyubi.

"Are you sure you want to come back to your father's mansion so soon?" Kali looks down to Katy as he asks her. The sun shines on her raven hair and made her white fox ears stand out more.

"I don't have much of a choice. Hunter did say the Kitsune Village lives out here in the woods, hiding away from modern civilization. I need to get back to my roots as well. Besides, we probably won't even stay inside the mansion too long anyway," Katy says and pulls out the key to unlock the door.

They were both surprised when a maid was waiting for them inside.

"Greetings Miss Katherine," she bows to her and then to Kali," Greetings Mr. Kali."

Katy blinks her azure eyes," Hello.... Um who might you be?" She tilts her head, recognizing this young woman as just a human.

"Ah- my apologies!" She stands back up straight, frantically.
"My name is Ruby, I was selected to be your attendant. As the new leader of the Kitsune Tribe, it's tradition for each leader to have a human as their valet," her short red hair was brushed behind her left ear.

"Who was the one that chose you?" Kali asks her suspiciously, not trusting her.

Ruby pulls out a letter from her pocket and hands it to Katy," This is everything you might have questions about," she blinks her hazel eyes.

Katy opens the letter, her azure eyes widen slightly.

Hello Miss Katherine,

If you are receiving this letter, it means I must have passed on and I have selected my niece to take over my position. She's trained in hand to hand combat and knows how to use my guns should you ever be in danger. This is her choice and it's been a great honor to serve your mother and father. I always saw you as my own granddaughter, so it would please me if you and Ruby could get along.

"He knew he might die soon, so he told me I was finally ready. I also hope to serve young Suiko when she is born," Ruby smiles.

Kali had read the letter over Katy's shoulder," You don't look like you can fight..," he says just loud enough for his words to be heard.

Ruby only smiles at him," I understand you have immense strength with your background, but even I have gone toe to toe with demons."

"Oh yeah? I would be down-"
"Kali," Katy looks up at him with a glare.
"Alright, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt Ruby- for now," Kali crosses his arms over his chest then.

Ruby smiles," Shall I take your bags?"

"Oh if you could, thank you," Katy smiles back at her and then watches as Ruby takes their suitcases to a room upstairs.

"What do you want to do first?" Kali asks Katy, but before she could answer, there was a knock at the front door.

Katy blinks in surprise and goes to answer the door, seeing a young boy with sandy blonde hair and dark ocean eyes.

"Hello miss! I was hoping Mister Hunter might be with you?" He asks as he looks up at Katy.

Katy smiles at him," Hunter isn't here right now, but he will be here by tonight. You know my uncle?"

Rux wagged his twin tails then excitedly," Know him? You bet I do! He's my mentor in magic!"

Katy steps aside for him then," why don't you come in?"
