The Glimmer

Eli, Kali, and Katy all widen their eyes in surprise at what Harold just said.

"You have to banish a demon," Harold says seriously.

Looking a little nervous now, Katy glances to Eli and Kali, then back to her father.

"I will happily go for any other random demon, I will not hurt Eli or Kali with my Kitsuné Magic," she says confidently.

Harold crosses his arms then," Why won't you? It's not as if another demon will simply lay down in front of you like a dog?"

Kali clenches his fists and Eli narrows his sunset eyes.

"You may be right, but these two are no ordinary demons. You know this, so why is that my next task?" She asks him, exasperated.

"Kitsune's are known for many things, one being trickery, and the other is purification. We cleanse the evil of this world. Besides, I said banish, not vanquish. There's a difference," he explains calmly.

Eli steps forward then," Do it on me."

Katy looks at him in shock," I can't!"

Kali steps forward then as well," But you can on me," his crimson eyes search her growing desperate azure eyes.

Katy shakes her head, her eyes watering," I won't...," her voice cracked with emotion.

Harold," A banish doesn't last long, but it will send you somewhere where you cannot use your demon powers for a whole month, in most cases."

Kali looks at Harold then," I'll be able to come back after a month then?"

Harold nods his head," If she is to become a stronger Kitsune, she needs to learn how to do this."

Kali nods and suddenly takes off a necklace he had been wearing. It was a black string type that held what looked like a short claw or tooth from an animal. He placed it around her head and onto her neck," This necklace has been with me since I can remember, keep it close to you while I'm gone."

Katy was crying at this point. Kali pulls her into a hug," Be brave for me, okay Princess? I'll be back," he leans down and kisses her, before pulling away.

"The words you have to speak are the following, 'I seek to cast thee out, banish this evil from this plane!'"

Katy looks at Kali, tears streaming her face as she holds up her hand towards him," ....I seek to cast thee out, B-Banish this evil from this plane!"

A bright light flashed in the room and when it faded, Kali was gone.

Eli had shielded his eyes from the light. He slowly walks over to Katy and gently hugs her. She cries into his chest. He looks down at her and could now see she had three tails.

He didn't want to say anything, however, what could he say to her in this moment to make her feel better?

Harold nods his head," You didn't kill him, just remember that. I think that's enough for one night," he walks to his bedroom for the night.

Eli realizes she fainted in his arms, so he picks her up and carries her to her room. He gently lays her down on the bed and sighs softly," You... feared to loose him.... Because you love him.... ," he looks away from her, a grim look on his face," It would only hurt her more if I stuck around... ," with that, he leaves the whole mansion.

The next morning, Katy rubs her swollen eyes and feels them water as everything hit her once more.

Days past that Katy spent in that room, barely eating or drinking anything.
Harold knocks on the door and then enters," Katherine? I'm coming in," he looks at her and frowns.
