I awoke to the sound of birds chirping right outside the window. I was befuddled at first and then suddenly remembered what had happened yesterday. I looked around for Everest and found him rolled out on his back kicking his legs like a small hound. I brushed my fingers over the top of his head and he yawned and slowly opened his eyes. I spoke to him through -Telepathy- "Crazy day yesterday huh..."

"Indeed it was, that giant boar was pretty good wasn't it..."

I thought to myself that Everest seemed to value food pretty highly. "We have a lot to do today. First is going over to Priscilla to see if she can figure out who my mother's bloodline was. Then when that's over we gotta figure out what happened to your family over at Sheila's Lab. I also want to have enough daylight left to go through some of the old books and scrolls around." As I was saying that I spotted a book on top of the pile in front of the bed, that was titled 'The Art of Summoning.' Going to open it up, I heard a knock on the door. The door slowly opened to Winston smiling at me.

"Hey there Roy, breakfast is almost ready, I just wanted to let you know to get ready and come down to eat. I took the liberty to prepare a small bath just down the hall for you. Go wash up and change into the clothes I left there. They might be a bit big but should fit well enough, they were after all my old clothes from when I was a child. Oh and after breakfast we'll go to the lake and see Priscilla, she already went to prepare for the ritual to commune with the Spirit World. But more on that later, get ready soon please."

I got out of bed and made sure Everest was up as well, "Well, I'm going to take them up on that bath, you wait here while I get changed." I then opened the door to my room and went down the hall to the washroom. I noticed that the bath was a modest barrel sized bath made of wood. I checked the water and it was surprisingly warm. I couldn't remember the last time I actually had a warm bath in my life, it had been at least since I got sold into slavery at six years old. I stripped down, scrubbed myself with the rag that was folded on the small seat, and settled down into the barrel. Letting out a refreshing sigh, I sat there for awhile just soaking in the warmth of the bath. After about five minutes or so I decided to get out and start getting dressed. I dried myself off with the second rag that was in the room. I spotted a set of clothes next to the rags and looked them over. Wool undergarments, ashen trousers that were a little long on my legs, a white silk long sleeve undershirt, and a pale purple overshirt. I looked myself over in the reflection of the water and saw a clean young half-elf with long silver-white hair, the eyes that were a bright gold before were now a pale purple. My new outfit seemed to be tailored to me somehow.

Having finished changing I walked back to my room to pick up Everest and head downstairs. Coming upon the circular table in the middle of the house, I saw it was piled with the same meat from last night as well as what looked to be some soup made from who knows what, it was definitely great whatever it was though. I spotted Winston sitting at the table and Liz busy in the small kitchen within the house. I expressed my gratitude, "Good morning guys, I really have to thank you for heating up the bath for me. Oh and for these amazing clothes they are awesome if I am to be honest with you. And before I forget I wanted to say that I really appreciate all that you guys are doing for me."

Winston replied by asking Liz, "Did you heat up the water in the bath this morning?"

"I haven't had time to, even if I wanted to," She replied.

"Wait then who did?" I asked Winston

"My best guess would be that a certain spirit has taking a liking to you already. Congrats on your behalf." He responded with a smirk.

I could think of only one spirit I have seen so far as the culprit. Thank you very much little salamander. I said a small thanks in my mind and then sat down at the table.
