About a week after the festival I was out patrolling the forest near the mountain again, with me was Everest. Chronos and Blaze were enjoying their time within their gemstones. They had given me the ability to master their respective attributes, so I was extremely grateful. They did not have as much of a combat capability as Everest did, thus they did not need to help us out. Either way on this day I was out near the mountain taking care of the Tusked Mountain Boar. I was just laying there enjoying the scene around me, in the shade of a massive tree of course. It was the middle of the day and the sun was at its apex. I was sitting there when all of a sudden I thought I felt a tiny mana signature coming from the beach directly south of me.

I thought it to be strange. I had recently culled everything from the mountain to the south that needed to be. The mana signature seemed like a person with almost no mana to speak of had washed up on shore for some reason. That being the case I decided to head down to the beach to see what was going on. I told Everest to come with me by hopping into my shadow. As he did so, I circulated mana within my body to use one of the spells my father had personally left to me, -Warp-. Once I completed the spell, I had found myself at the edge of the tree line to the beaches on the southern side of Mount Sulos.

I cast my gaze along the coast while I had Everest sniff out anything different from normal. We both set upon the same sight, A small stocky Dwarven man. He was lying on his side with his arms tucked underneath him. At the time I could not tell his physical age, as he was on the verge of death's door. I had met a few older dwarves within the labor camp out in Varendrell. They all had the palest white hair and claimed to have lived for centuries. But the man lying there in front of me had hair that was a purplish tinted black. His large beard was also of the same coloration. It reminded me of some sort of weird type of glass I saw as a child. Either way seeing him in such a state, I couldn't help but try to save him if I could.

If I had been any later than I was I don't know if I would have been able to save him. I used the -Cleanse- spell to heal any injuries he had sustained from his rough time at sea. I should also mention that in the time I had mastered the spell -Time Dilation-, I was also working on another type of time-attribute magic called -Mend-. This spell may sound like a type of healing spell and actually, it kind of is in a way. What it does is return the target to a previous state that has been recorded within the mana's signature for the spell. As that was the stipulation, I realized it was perfect to use in conjunction with -Cleanse-. I could use -Cleanse- to draw out any miasma or heal any malady by drawing it unto myself. Then when I had successfully taken the malady or miasma within myself, I could use -Mend- to restore my own body to the state it was right before I had used -Cleanse-. I thought it to be ingenious myself.

Back to the half conscious dwarf lying at my feet, It took about a half hour to clear him of any injury he had. He had broken nearly every bone in his body. He had somehow been blinded. He had been missing one of his legs as well. It seemed almost impossible to restore him to normal. But I had figured out how to do just that. When I had finally finished 'healing' this man, I noticed that I had used about half of my mana pool in the endeavor. Seeing him breathing slowly and sleeping peacefully, I decided to have a look around the area again to see any clues as to who or why this man was here.

I did not find anything substantial around at all. I then decided to ask my spiritbeast if they could snuff anything out of the situation. Chronos said something to the effect of 'I do not know a thing about dwarves or their culture', so that was no help at all. But when I turned to Blaze, I saw her poking at the man's pack strapped to his back. She then went through it and came back out with someone else in tow. It seemed that this particular dwarf had contracted with a member of the flame salamanders as well. This one looked kind of like Blaze, though instead it looked to be more purple tinted flamed than her. I thought for a minute and realized that the only reason I was able to sense this man at all was because of this little ones mana.
