Chapter 22

"all right, we need vodka, tequila, and beer" I said.

"and gin for skye" Jeremiah said.

"who drunks gin?" I asked laughing.

"old people and skye" conrad said.

"all eight you guys, i got this." conrad said pulling out a fake ID. he got out the car and came back without any beer.

"Oh what? ypu ID didn't work Mr. herbansen?" jere asked conrad.

"fuck off at least I have one" conrad said flipping jere off.

"It's cause I don't need one, jumper and I are tight. we're like bros" Jeremiah said getting out the car and into the gas station.

He came out with no beer causing us to laugh.

"so what do we do? ask someone to buy it fir us?" Jeremiah asked.

"maybe hop a few towns over where they don't know us to well?" Conrad suggested.

"Yeah I don't think anyone will buy your Guam ID conrad" I told him.

"I would love to hear your plan Elizabeth" he said to me.

"why don't i... just go in and ask?" I suggested getting out the car.

"Hey jumper" I said walking into the gas station.

"ellie." he said greeting me.

"here's the deal. it's been a crawly 6 weeks. the house was for sale. it sold this morning and tonight is like our last night in it forever." I told him.

"Wow. that blows" he said.

"Yeah it really really blows. I mean have you ever had the shittiest fay and just wanna have a couple beers with your friends?" I asked and he smiled.

We walked put the gas station with a cart full of beers and I was holding two slushies. Conrad and Jeremiah stared and got out the car to help out the beers in the back.

"just don't get pulled over or I'm telling them you guys stole it while I was busy" jumper said going back inside.

"this is for you" I said handing jere a slushie.

"what'd you get me?" He asked taking the cup.

"drink it and see" I told him.

He took and sip and looked at me. "cherry and coke, your specialty" he said and I smiled.

"you didn't get me one?" Conrad ask as jere got back in the car.

"you always say their to sugary!" I told him.

"Well now I want some" he said bending down to my level. we met eyes and be stared. he then moved his head closer but moved down and took a sip of my drink.

"mm. it's to sugary" he said getting back into the car and i followed behind.

We had to get decorations for the party so we drove to another car. we got inside and took some shopping carts.

"So this is a rager. so go big" I said.

"how big we talking?" jere asked putting his ark around my shoulder.

"like dad's Amex big?" Conrad asked pulling out one of their dads credit cards.

"the sacred emergency amex?" Jeremiah asked fake gasping

"last one to fill a cart has to load it in!" conrad said as we all laughed and ran our sperate ways to get stuff.

I went downstairs an aisle and heard someone behind me. I turn around to see conrad with a cart full of lame items.

"Oh hold on no. your cart has nothing fun in it!" I told him.

"these plates have glitter on them" he said lifting up the plates.

"Oh wait hold on." I said reaching behind him and I grabbed a long  rainbow feather boa.

"Oh yeah that's more I like it" I said wrapping it around him.

I found a pair of  sun sunglasses and placed them on his face.

"this is a hundred percent your look Connie baby" I said pulling out my phone and taking a picture.

he grabbed a tiara and placed it on my head and chuckled.

"you know, my mom used to call me Connie when I was to in my head. sorry, I'm not trying to bring anything down. the order of the day is fun." He said.

"no its not that. can we just, can we address the elephant in the room that were both pretending isn't there?" I asked him.

"Oh yeah absolutely" he said taking off the sunglasses.

"I've been trying to find a way to apologize for that day. last summer, that last few days where I just completely blew you off even though I loved you. but I thought I loved jere. and I'm even sorry for the fourth of july." I said.

"you loved me?" He asked.

"Belly had a crush on you since we were 10. and when I was like 12 I realized why she did. but she liked you first so I stayed away. and now I'm wishing I didn't" I told him and we locked eyes.

"I really wish it was you that found me the day if the funeral." He told me as he lifted the tiara off my head and smoothed my hairs down on the top of my head.

Jeremiah cleared his throat and I turned around.

"Hey jere" I said and he looked very uncomfortable.

"we.. almost done" I said.

"cool, well hurry up then" he said and I bit my lip.

"we should get some camers and leave them around the house to people can take pictures. we have to get one of all us like Susannah made us do every summer." I suggested grabbing 2 or 3 cameras

"Thats a great idea" conrad said smiling.

We payed for everything and git it loaded in the car znd drive to the empty beach house.

"Hey guys, help?" I asked taylor, belly, and skye who were all standing in the kitchen.

"where are the boys and why arnt they helping you?" Taylor asked me.

"conrad is un loading the rest of the supplies and jere is seeing if there's any thing we can use that the movers left behind" I told them.

"Okay wait so I part my teeth and then tounge?" skye asked.

"what are yall talking about?" I asked.

"apparently skye has never kissed anyone" Belly said.

"do you wanna take this one ellie? I mean your the expert. Conrad, Jeremiah, a bunch of other boys" Taylor said and I wacked her arm.

"you've kissed conrad?" Belly ask me.

"Belly I'll talk about this later." I told her.

"what was it like kissing all of them? and feel free to br as technical as humanly possible." skye said.

"Well with conrad it was like twice and I was just being stupid. and with Jeremiah I thought it would be weird since we were friends for so long but it was like really hot. like really really hot" I said laughing.

"Well who would you kiss again?" Belly asked.

"isn't it obvious?" Taylor asked.

"no comment" I said taking a deep breathe.
