The Accident, The Recovery, and a Discovery

Anxiety Attack

After the lunch fiasco Ashley decided to take a nap before the nurses got there. Unfortunately he had another nightmare about the accident. Except this time in his nightmare he actually died. All he could see was his funeral and a bunch of crying fans. He woke up screaming. Andy, Jake, Jinxx, and CC ran over to comfort him. Andy yelled "Ashley! Ashley! Calm down!" Jinnx said "It was just a dream!" Ashley had tears in his eyes and was hyperventilating. There was a knock at the door. CC said "It's the nurses! Hurry someone go get the door!" Jake let them in and said "Ashley had a nightmare now I think he's having a panic attack!' Tanya and Tina ran to his bedside. Tanya grabbed his arms and Tina put her hands on Ashley's cheeks. Tina said "Ashley, Ashley, hey." Tina said "Ashley I need you to take deep breaths for me. Come on. In...and out."

Ashley's breathing steadied but he was still quivering. CC said "Talk to us Ashley. What happened?" Ashley told them about his nightmare. They all gave him a hug. Jake said "It was just a dream Ashley." Jinxx said "You're not going anywhere anytime soon." Andy said "We won't let you." The nurses changed him and CC asked "How about some tea? That should help calm your nerves." Ashley nodded and thought [I'd rather have whiskey but I guess tea works.] Tina said "Make sure the tea isn't too hot." Ashley groaned "Aww..."  Tina said "Sorry Ashley, don't want you to burn yourself. Just until you get your dexterity back."

CC put some ice cubes in the tea while the nurses did some leg exercises with Ashley. It was the bicycle method but luckily all the beans had left Ashley's system. Afterwards they put Ashley in his wheelchair. Tina changed the bedding while Tanya helped Ashley practice lifting his arms above his head and making a fist. Tanya said "Can you squeeze your fists Ashley?" Ashley squeezed his fists even though it wasn't tight. She said "Good job Ashley! Very good work. You wanna try grabbing your wheelchair wheels?" Ashley grasped onto the wheels slightly and tried to push forward with a grunt "Ughhhh!" but unfortunately his wheelchair didn't budge an inch. Ashley moaned in defeat. Tina said "You almost got it Ashley. You'll be mobile again in no time."

Tina and Tanya helped Ashley back into his bed and had CC sign off the day's visit. Ashley was still a little shaky. Clearly still nervous from his nightmare. Running through his head. The nurses said their goodbyes. Jinxx could see Ashley was still nervous and said "How about we watched a movie? Something to take your mind off things. While scrolling Jinxx landed on an old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie and Ashley yelled "Tat un! (That one!)" Andy said "Perfect choice Ashley! I'll make some popcorn." CC said "Try to not burn it this time." Andy said "That wasn't me last time that was Ashley." Ashley said "Duh-uh! (Nuh-uh!) Jake said "Actually Ashley...it was you last time. Sorry." Ashley rolled his eyes while CC made the popcorn and everyone got settled in the living room to watch the movie.
