The Accident, The Recovery, and a Discovery

That Phone Call

Jake was pacing back and forth in the kitchen. He asked CC "Where the hell is he? I don't wanna order pizzas if he not gonna be here to help eat it." CC answered "How should I know? He texted me like 20 minutes ago saying he was leaving the bar and coming home. I know its not THAT far." Just then CC's phone started ringing. It was Ashley's number. He said "Look there's Ashley now!" He answered the phone. "Hello? Yes this is CC. What?! Oh my God! Yes I'll be there right away thank you for calling me." CC was as pale as a ghost and had the look of terror on his face. Jinxx asked "What happened?" Andy asked "What was that about?" Obviously panicked, CC said "That was an EMT. Ashley was t-boned by a drunk driver leaving the bar and his car flipped. He's unconscious and the ambulance is taking him to the emergency room. He sounds like he's in really bad shape you guys," Andy grabbed his keys and said "Come on I'll drive lets go." They all just nodded in agreement too shocked to argue. When they got in the car Jinxx said "Oh my god you guys the bar he said he was going to is on the way to the hospital!" Jake said "We can see how bad the accident was!" CC said "Maybe we can recover some of his stuff before its ruined." Andy turned the corner onto the street the bar is on. They all were completely stunned at what they saw. Ashley's car was upside down. The drivers side completely smashed in. The door obviously cut open with the jaws of life. Glass and pieces of Ashley's car spewed across the side of the road. A large puddle of blood next to his drivers side door. The truck that hit him was smashed in the front but obviously not as badly damaged as Ashley's car. Andy pulled over and got out of the car. Before Andy could say anything the investigator stopped him and said "Sir please get back in your vehicle this is a crime scene under open investigation." Andy tired to explain "No you don't understand we're Ashley's roommates we all live together!" ~ (just go with it)~  CC got out of the car and explained "I'm the one the ambulance called about the accident! We wanted to grab some of his belongings." The investigator explained "If that's the case I will meet you at the hospital but at the moment we can't have anyone here at the scene and nothing is to be touched till my investigation is complete. Me and another officer will bring his belongings to the hospital when we finish interviewing witnesses." So they got back in the car and drove to the hospital.
