Love
Love is what I feel for one.
He has shown me what love means,
What it feels like when looked at.
I never thought I'd get it,
That I was too broken,
Too ugly too different,
But now, now I know,
Love is everywhere,
Especially in unexpected places.
I have been hurt too many times with past boyfriends, girlfriend and crushes. Everyone laughed and made fun of me when I told my crushes. My relationships never ended well, with them showing a completely different side and stalking afterwards. I'm safe now, luckily, and realized that I am lovable, my boyfriend showing me it and helping me through some of my toughest times.
Poem for my Love
His eyes a flash of lightning against the sky,
Gold lines against the brown backdrop,
Flecks of amber-colored rain highlighting the gold.
His hair the clouds covering the sun,
Wavy yet wispy, streaks of shades against the plain color.
Scary but gentle, as sweet as a raindrop.
Scarred hands, breaks in the clouds,
Yet soft to the touch, clouds would be jealous,
Gentle and dangerous, as the rain.
He's tall and intimidating, sweet and kind,
My lovely storm, my handsome lightning,
This is for him, my loving storm,
Handsome and loud, my gentle storm.
This poem was modified to protect my boyfriends identity, mainly his name. We started dating in October of 2022, a week before Halloween. We confessed to each other long before, about two weeks after we met. It felt like I knew him when we first met, in a geometry class. We still haven't finished that assignment. Before we really started dating, we were both acting like a couple together. He wanted to wait until he got back, 8 long months away, he was leaving in January. Our feelings had other plans, though.He is my rock and I love his more than anything.
