Just a "Normal" Day at School..? || CynoNari

⚠Part 6.1: End of an Era

Warning before you read: These 2 chapters mention abuse.

We are coming back with a bang. Literally.

CYNO POV: 

It's lunchtime. A little odd how Tighnari hasn't come out of the restroom yet. I'm pretty sure he's aware we have class soon. After all, he would normally say:

"Oh Cyno! We have to go! Surely our game could wait until after school right?"

Man. If he was here right now... I would've won this round! I know... pretty sneaky of me to have peeked at his cards for his next move while he was having his restroom break. 

There have been a ton of rumours about a new student lately. That's odd, because... we were just halfway through the school year. How come they didn't they join at the start...? 

They said he was a 'criminal' orphan from Inazuma then was adopted by Rukkhadevata; our principal. More rumors circled around that his actual mom was the principal of Inazuma Academy. 

I was lost in thought until I heard someone's footsteps speed up in my direction. 

"...Cyno!!"
Tighnari screamed frightfully, with tears rolling down his cheeks. 

Who'd dare make him cry... I'll make them pay. 

It was traumatizing to see him covered in bruises and cuts. I didn't think something like this would happen. 

"Who did this to you!?"

Frustrated, I started to wipe away the tears from his face.

This is such a catastrophe; I might just cry.

It hurts just to see him in this kind of shape...and... I can't believe why some fool would dare lay his hands on him. 

A bunch of other people came to where we were.

"Tighnari...!" I heard one exclaim.

"Hold on, we'll usher you to the clinic–" Said the friend that accompanied them.

Tighnari was then taken by those students to the clinic.

I couldn't bear letting him out of my sight while he was in this state.

I didn't want to let go of him after what just happened earlier, so... 

I followed them on the way to the clinic. 

I didn't want to eat anymore at this point, or even go to class. Anger ate up my appetite. 

When the others went back to class, I found Tighnari getting patched up by the nurse. I sat next to the clinic bed. 

"Nari." 

"...Cyno...? I thought... you went to... class... What're you... doing... h-here?" 

"Who did this to you, Tighnari?" 

"Some.. some kid.. I can't... remember... d-don't know who..." Tighnari replied while shaken up. 

Please let this end. This is so goddamn frustrating– 

"–So the rumours... were they true? Was it the damned Inazuman who crossed paths with you?" 

Please Nari... don't cry anymore. It pains me just to see any tear roll down your face. 

"Y-yeah.. he even beat up Collei.." Tighnari said, crying more than he was just now. 

Wait. 

He...  BEAT UP COLLEI TOO!?!?

That's it! I want payback. Collei did nothing wrong! She even has a chronic illness! Why would someone come for her knowing that info...

It seems to me this guy knows what he's here for. 

"There have been... a lot more people coming here lately. They all say it is because of an indigo-haired Inazuman student." The nurse said, while patching up Tighnari. 

So the rumours are true... There's an Inazuman kid roaming around ruining everything and beating up innocents in this school. 

"They mentioned too that he can't get expelled, all because his adoptive mother is the principal. A few students who came around wounded like your friend here say he hangs around at the school's garden and doesn't go to class. I really can't be sure–" 

"Thank you miss nurse. Now I know which loser to look for. Time to find this son of a–" 

"Cyno... w-wait!" Tighnari says with the little might he has left.

"I don't think you can take him on.. I.. I tried.. but you... really... can't mess with him! Pl...please just... stay here... I-" 

"Nari, it's fine. I'll see you later, yeah? Get some rest." 

"Yeah... okay... but before you go Cyno.. I.." 

"I..." 

Before he could finish, I took my leave. Time to find that idiot, before it's too late.
