The train stops suddenly, and I go flying forward, a long with Brit, who is sitting next to me. In front of me, Jaeger and Hena's backs slam into their seats, and Jaeger wakes up, alert. "What happened?"

"We stopped." I say, and he looks confused. "It did that last time, too." I confirm.

"Wow." Brit says. I open the door, and we all grab our bags, and get off. At least this time they don't push me off. "It looks just like I remember." Brit says.

"Yeah, not much has changed around here." I tell her, "Come on, we have to stay pretty hidden, because everyone still hates me."

"Sorry."

"You couldn't do anything about it. Besides, I finally got a new friend...Everett. Except, he's back at the Capital, now." I feel bad. I dargged him out there, and then left him. At least he is with 'good' people.

"You ditched him?" Jaeger asks

"Not exactly. It's kind of a long story." I explain, and he just nods. We are in a bigger part of town, and a lot of people hate me being here. I can tell by the looks they are giving me.

"So, are Sara and John still rivals." Brit asks, and I laugh a little, before responding, "No...They are actually dating."

"You're kidding!" She says, "Shut up, and don't lie to me!"

"I'm not," I say, "Why would I lie?"

"I don't know. But, I can't believe they are actually dating. I remember how John smashed ice cream into Sara Jane's hair when we were 7. She said, and I quote, 'John is a poopy pantsed jerk!' I laughed so hard!"

"Yeah, well now they have turned to making out in the cafeteria."

"Ooooh. I feel sorry for you."

I am figiting with the silver knot rig on my left index finger. I'm not sure why I do it, but it kind of keeps me calm. I really need to be calm before I go to see my Mom. She is probably super mad I left her, and didn't let her know where.

I'm not sure she'll talk to me, but we have to try. I need to know who Derek is. Maybe he was an uncle, or cousins, or some other part of the family, that's off and has some weird name.

I have a lot of hopes. I hope Mom will still love me. I hope she won't close the door on us. I hope she'll recognize Brit, and be welcoming to Hena and Jaeger. I hope a lot of things, but, mostly I am hoping Mom will actually talk to me, and that she will know who Derek is. I guess in all if this...I never thought of the possibility that Mom won't know. But, I have to keep an open mind...'Mom will know.'

When we finally reach the door, I knock.

I can hear footsteps inside, and when Mom opens the door, she looks shocked. "I thought you wouldn't come back," there is relief in her voice.

"I'm sorry. I should have told you where I was going, but...I knew wouldn't let me, and I had to go, Mom."

"I know, sweetie. And it was wrong of me to try and stop you," Mom pulls me in for a hug, it last for about thirty seconds, and when she releases, she takes a breathe, "But, I assume you aren't just here with your friends to say you're sorry. How can I help?"

"Can we come in?" I ask, she nods, and opens the door for all of us. Once we are all sitting on the couch, or chairs, I begin. "Mom, this Jaeger, Hena, and you may remember Brit from when I was 7." I say, and she nods, "They are siblings, and have powers, too..." I trail off a little, and Mom buts in, "Addilyn, I only had one child."
