Allison Gold.
This is the name of my great aunt. This is the one person in the entire world who just might know something about me and Jaeger and Brit. She is the one person who might have powers like Brit and Jaeger. She can help us.
Only problem-I have no clue where she lives or if she is even still alive. I can't imagine how I will feel if we finally find where she should be living, and someone comes out to greet me, telling me, "I am sorry, but Mrs. Gold, has recently passed away."
I am not sure I could handle it.
"Addilyn!" Brit calls, shaking my arm.
"What?" I ask, exasperated.
"I am a genius, and, do you want to know why?"
"Why?"
"Because, I know where Mrs. Allison Gold lives,"
I give her a I-am-so-not-needing-jokes-right-now look. " I am serious! She lives in Chico."
"How do you know that?" I ask
"She is genius," Jaeger tells me, "She looked in my Mom's address book."
"You're kidding. It was in there?"
She nods, and within 10 minutes, we are on the train, headed to Chico. Hena is left with Mom, because we aren't sure how safe it would be for a toddler. So, here I am, sitting on these red cushioned seats for the 3rd time in the matter of 2 weeks. I am holding a record for changing records.
This would be my life, looking out the window of a 4 walled train room, trying to figure out who Allison Gold or some other person is. Maybe I will never know my power, or where it came from. It is obvious I am not going to be just like Mom or Dad. I am going to be a new person. I am not going to take after either of my parents, but I am going to be me. Addilyn Marie Ember.
But, in all of this. In all of this thinking about what will become, I can't get my mind of the boy who was always willing to help me. The boy with the blue eyes, and super light brown hair. The tall boy who saw me tumble down the hill by the swing. The boy that knows I love to swing.
The boy who is still back with Tobi, the twins, and Mr. O'Riley.
I need to find that boy.
Everett. The same boy, who refuses to tell me his last name, because a name has a lot of meaning, but how much meaning can it have? Why would it have such an impact on one grown boys life? I want to know. I need to know.
I will know.
