I stand up.
I wipe my eyes.
I straighten my back.
I start my walk. My little brain can't handle the pressure than is being put on it. I can't be a leader. I have been a nobody for 16 years. For 16 years, I have been seen only as the person to pick on, when you are feeling bad. But, I never did anything. I just sat there, and let them throw their best shots. It bothered me at first, but after 4th grade, I started to ignore it. By the time I started high school, the feeling was gone. I had become more inside myself than anything else. I was a little like a ghost. No one every talked kindly to me. Never until I met Everett, then everything changed.
He helped to change how I viewed life. He helped me escape my reality. He was willing to come with me. Then, I met Tobi, Maxwell, Clinton, the twins, and I met Jaeger and was reunited with Brit. Because of him, I learned that I have a family. A big family.
A magical family.
I was allowed a change. And, I have a chance to change again. Change did me good once. It might do me good, again. I might be able to finally be normal. I might finally be accepted. I have to find the stone. I will find the stone. I am wiping tears from my eyes, and I try to make my way back to Allison's house.
I can see her running towards me. She wraps me in a hug, lifting me off the ground. She puts her hands on my cheeks, "What happened? Are you okay? Where did you go?" She look so concerned.
"I just went on a walk."
"We're you crying?" Brit asks me.
I nod, "I wasn't paying attention, and stubbed my toe on a rock. It really hurt, but I am fine." I lie.
"Come inside." Allison has her hand on my back, and is guiding me to the house. She sets me on the couch, and makes some tea. Her book is on the table. I pick it up, looking through the pages. She hands me the tea. I set the book back. "Where did you go?" Allison asks
"I said...a walk."
"A walk is not a place,"
"I don't know where I was, just out in the open. No where in particular. I just needed something to remind me of home. I used to go sit in the meadow."
They don't ask me any more questions. But, they don't leave me alone.
"Where's Everett and Jaeger?" I ask
"They went out looking for you." Brit informs me, "After we woke up, we assumed you had just gone on a walk. Everett was getting impatient after noon, so her insisted on looking for you. We knew he wasn't in the best condition, so we sent Jaeger with him."
"Oh."
"They should be back anytime."
"Can I go to my room? I didn't get much sleep last night."
Allison nods.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Brit asks
"I'll be fine."
I walk up the stairs, and when I make it to the bed, I fall into it. I don't even go under the covers. I close my eyes, and try to turn off my brain. It doesn't work.

I hear the front door open.
Everett voice pipes up, immediately, "We couldn't find her anywhere. Anything could have happened to her especially if she is emotional. We haven't practiced controlling her emotion to power reflex, and s-she could have killed her self, for all we know, and-"
Allison cuts him off, "She is upstairs...in her room."
I hear the pounding of feet on the stairs. With in a few moments, he comes darting into the room, he lets out a sigh. "Addilyn." He walks over to the bed. I turn, so I am facing him. He plants a kiss on my forehead. "Damn. You had me so scared, where did you go?" He is almost breathless.
I give a small smile, "No where. I was just a little ways out in the meadow."
"What?"
" I just needed to get away, and have something a little like home. I needed to let my thoughts out into the wind. I just needed to be free of everything."
He grabs my hand, "Okay. You get some rest."
He turn to walk away, but I don't let go of his hand, "Stay. Please stay."
He smiles and walks back. I scoot over, giving him room on the edge, "Okay."
He is facing me, I look into his eyes, "Thank you...for everything."
"No problem. I'd do anything for you."
I lay my head in his chest, and feel as it goes up at down. I can feel his heart beat, just slightly. He wraps his arm around me, holding me close to him. I feel safe.
