MTMTE #29
You had been on the ship a week and Ratchet wasn't keen on letting you out of the Med-bay. His argument mostly being that your injured and hardly anyone on this ship had experience with humans. Until they were made aware of the situation you were not leaving. Those were his thoughts anyway and you didn't agree. You wanted. No, needed answers. Which is what lead to your current predicament.
You had waited until Ratchet had left and carefully climbed down the medical berth, your arm was still in a sling and it took you much more time to climb down than it should have. You quietly slipped out the doors and down the hall to the left. Your mistake was in thinking that it would be easy. You quickly became lost as all the halls looked the same besides the numbers on the doors that just kept getting lower, you were currently at 290 and you had been walking for what felt like forever. You had not seen a single bot which you were partly grateful for. It's hard enough walking among them with everything that happened. You shook your head willing those thoughts away, you didn't want to deal with them right now.
You heard the doors ahead let out a whoosh and Tailgate and a taller white bot with red accents walked out and toward you. The larger bot didn't notice you but Tailgate did before you could hide.
"(y/n), what are you doing? You shouldn't be out here you could get squished," Tailgate said squatting down in front of you.
"Got bored," you said shrugging. The white bot looked down at you confused and then looked to Tailgate.
"Who's this?" the white bot asked looking at Tailgate.
"(y/n), this is Getaway," Tailgate said gesturing to the bot beside him, you glared at it and the larger bot returned the gesture, "We were just heading to Swerve's want to join us?"
"Sure," you replied.
Getaway started walking away Tailgate followed with you following behind. You quickly came to regret your choice as you were forced to jog to keep up with their much longer legs. Jogging hurt your ribs, as each step and breath sent bolts of pain through you. You weren't able to keep you pace with them long as the pain became to much and you had to stop. You leaned against the wall trying to get the pain under wraps and catch your breath. The two bots must not have noticed because they continued on walking. All of a sudden Tailgate stopped and looked back, seeing you leaning against the wall he quickly jogged back to you. Getaway stopped but made no move to follow Tailgate.
"Oh, what happened? Are you hurt? Do I need to get Ratchet," Tailgate rambled crouching in front of you. You sent the little bot a glare.
"I'm fine. I don't need Ratchet," You said but flinched as another bout of pain passed through your chest, "I just need a minute,"
Tailgate sat in front of you fidgeting for a moment.
"What if I carried you?" Tailgate offered you looked at him completely surprised but you didn't reject his offer immediately. Walking was out of the question and you really didn't want to go back to the medbay.
"Fine," you conceded, "just don't drop me,"
Tailgate lowered his hand towards and you unintentionally flinched away. Tailgate didn't seem to notice which you were thankful for. But you saw Getaway narrow his eyes. You used Tailgate's thumb to steady yourself as you stepped onto his palm. Once situated you nodded at Tailgate who took that as an okay to begin moving. Tailgate cautiously stood up making sure not to make big or jerky movements so that you wouldn't fall. Not that Tailgate was super tall, but it still wouldn't be a comfortable landing with your injuries. Getaway waited until Tailgate and you had caught up to continue walking.
