Don't date Blake Bloomer -- he's a schmuck.

You busted him making out with your teenage nemesis.

What happened?

One slap to his cheek, countless tears on your pillow.

You disregarded when I cautioned:

Don't drink at that raucous party.

You tasted every colorful alcoholic beverage offered.

What happened?

One hellish hangover your first day of college.

You failed to comply when I opined:

Don't be afraid to move out-of-state for an amazing opportunity.

You accepted employment eleven miles away with a lower salary.

What happened?

Took you nearly three years to achieve a promotion.

You paid attention when I encouraged:

Do keep this most precious of gifts.

You are strong, capable, and have so much to offer.

What happened?

Ten little perfect toes and fingers.

You may not always listen,
