Cat Noir's heart trembled as he continued to read Marinette's diary. Each word revealed a depth of emotion he had never fully grasped before. He felt a mix of admiration and guilt swirling within him.
Admiration for the resilient girl who faced adversities with grace, and guilt for not being there when she needed him the most.
"She's been through so much," Cat Noir murmured, his voice choked with emotion. "And I never even noticed."
He remembered the times they had spent together, as friends and classmates, but now those moments took on a new significance. The shy smiles she directed his way, the times she was always willing to lend a hand to others, and the genuine warmth she exuded — all of it became clear to him now.
"She's not just an ordinary girl," he said, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "She's extraordinary."
Cat Noir turned to another page, his hand trembling slightly. He felt the weight of her absence more acutely now, knowing that he would never have the chance to tell her how much she meant to him.
"I was so blinded by my own feelings for Ladybug that I overlooked the incredible person right in front of me," he confessed to the night sky. "Marinette deserved to know how special she is, and I let her down."
A soft breeze rustled his hair, as if the night itself was trying to console him. But no comfort could erase the pain of lost opportunities.
"I'm sorry, Marinette," Cat Noir whispered, his voice carrying a mixture of sorrow and determination. "I may not be able to turn back time, but I promise to cherish your memory and carry your kindness with me always."
Taking a shaky breath, he wiped a tear from his cheek, being careful not to let it fall on the pages of Marinette's precious diary. He knew how much this journal meant to her, and he wanted to treat it with the utmost respect.
Once he was sure his hands were dry, Cat Noir turned to the next page.A/N: Thank you for reading!! I'm publishing a few today since I don't want to drag it on after the next season comes out.
