Reunion

Marinette stood defeated, her body slumped against the impenetrable barrier separating her from Gabriel. The weight of despair settled heavily upon her shoulders, her heart sinking as she realized her impassioned plea for help had fallen upon deaf ears. Every fibre of her being cried out, yearning to bridge the gap between them, but the cruel reality held her captive, rendering her powerless.

"Gabriel! No!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with desperation and anguish. Her words, however, seemed to dissipate into the air, unheard and ignored by the man she once believed could be reached.
Gabriel's attention briefly flickered towards Marinette, but his gaze quickly returned to the unified forms of Tikki and Plagg before him. His determination seemed resolute, unyielding to any pleas or warnings. A wave of panic washed over Marinette as she comprehended the gravity of the situation unfolding before her.

"No! Don't do this!" She cried out, her hands pounding fruitlessly against the invisible barrier that stood as an insurmountable obstacle between them. Each strike echoed her frustration and desperation, but it was as if her efforts were futile against the relentless force that held her at bay.

Feeling a mixture of sadness and resolve, Gabriel turned around, his expression heavy with purpose. Slowly, he removed the wedding band from his finger, a symbol of his union with Emilie, and placed it among the collection of magical jewellery before him. Marinette's eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat as she comprehended the weight of his intentions.

"Marinette," Gabriel spoke, his voice tinged with a melancholic tone. "Make sure that Adrien never finds out about the villain I was, but instead, that he remembers the times I tried to be a good father." His words hung in the air, carrying a profound sense of regret and longing.

Marinette was rendered speechless, her mind struggling to process the gravity of Gabriel's final request. She watched helplessly as her heart shattered, her inability to intervene leaving her feeling utterly impotent. The realization that she was powerless to change the course of events washed over her, intensifying her feelings of frustration and despair.

She wanted to reach out, to shake Gabriel from his determined path, to make him understand that there was still hope for redemption and reconciliation. But as the seconds ticked away, she found herself trapped in a cruel limbo, forced to witness the decisions unfolding before her eyes, unable to alter their course.

Gabriel's smile radiated trust and belief in Marinette as he turned around, fixing his gaze once again upon the unified presence of Tikki and Plagg. The ethereal creature, curious and enigmatic, posed a profound question that seemed to hold the key to unlocking Gabriel's deepest desires.

"What do you wish for?" the creature inquired, its voice carrying an air of ancient wisdom and anticipation.

"Read my heart," Gabriel responded, his voice laced with a mixture of vulnerability and determination. In those few words, he conveyed the sincerity of his intentions, allowing the enigmatic entity to peer into the depths of his being and understand the true essence of his desires.

The creature, undeterred by the weight of Gabriel's request, pressed on with another question that pierced the very core of his being. "What do you sacrifice?" Its voice reverberated through the room, casting an aura of solemnity over the proceedings.
