I stared at my computer. Did I really just hack someone's computer? I looked at the screen as feelings of remorse grew inside me. I slouched back in my chair and let out a loud sigh. I started thinking, which led to overthinking, which led to me panicking. I paced throughout the room, coming up with all the ideas I could that would have consequences for hacking someone's computer.
Would I be charged?
Could I be sent to jail?
Will the person whom I hacked find me?
I thought long and hard. I felt like I was gonna pass out. But in this case, that's the only sane thing I could think of doing right now. Maybe I'd forget about this by morning? Hopefully. I exited the computer room and entered the room beside it, my bedroom. I got dressed in my pajamas and crawled in my bed. I reached towards the lamp next to me and the room was no longer illuminated. I laid awake for a few minutes, still not able to get the thoughts out of my head. Laying awake, restless, I intertwined my hands and tapped my fingers against them. I tried shaking the thoughts from my head but no matter what they wouldn't go away. I looked over on my nightstand and looked at my phone, currently charging, and my headphones plugged in as well. I turned on my side and grabbed both. I left my phone sitting on the table for it to charge while I picked some music that would put me to sleep. I finally settled on a playlist and hit shuffle, not wanting to get up every 2:00 minutes or however long the song lasted. I sang along softly in my head and eventually drifted off into sleep.
