It took a half hour for them to finished cleaning in the kitchen. Jackson went to get the clothes for me. While my mom went to the living room and admired the Christmas tree and the presents underneath. She missed seeing that in our house especially the wonderful Christmas memories with me and Dad. She jumped when Nicholas spoke to her.

Nicholas: There you are!

Lexi's Mom: Oh! Hey there.

Nicholas: I hope I didn't startle you.

Lexi's Mom: Your fine. What's up?

Nicholas: Did you ask Lexi about staying for Christmas?

Lexi's Mom: Yes, she wasn't sure at first until charming Jackson convinced her.

He laughed.

Nicholas: Yeah, he can be a little girl crazy.

Lexi's Mom: I never noticed.

They both laughed and looked at each other.

Nicholas: So, I thought take a break from your car and should probably work on Christmas Eve dinner.

Lexi's Mom: Of course! Do you need an assistant to help you with dinner?

Nicholas: You know what that would be great!! It's been too long since I had a woman in the kitchen helping me.

Mom giggled and he blushed hard. They both went to the kitchen and started prepping for the big dinner. It was weird for her to giggle and offer to help Nicholas with Christmas Eve dinner. Mom felt great when she smiled and laughed again. It was a long while since she did those things before Dad died. It was also strange that she started to like Nicholas even though it's been a year since mom has been widowed.
