"I DON'T KNOW." DEVYN REPLIED, while shrugging her shoulders lightly. As she pulled and held onto the strap of her duffel bag, the teenager had turned her head to look at her roommate—who had responded to her by rolling her eyes. "There's literally no reason for them to hate me."

"Girl, fuck them." Korin told her friend as the elevator came to a stop on her dorm floor. With her pushing herself away from the elevator wall, the sophomore then rolled her eyes as she exited the mental box, once the elevator doors opened. "Them bitches are just jealous of you."

"And honestly," as she turned her head to look at her teammate, Korin simply waved the situation off, as to say don't worry about it. "I wouldn't even care about what they had to say. My ass would be celebrating right now."

"Nike is sponsoring you girl, that's huge."

"Yeah." The freshman sprinter had managed to say as she huffed out a low sigh. Devyn had just received, and accepted, an endorsement deal with Nike.

But—despite this being a huge deal for her, with this being her first NIL deal of her collegiate career, there were a couple of people on the bringston track & field team, who have made Devyn feel bad about the deal. And apparently, since she didn't fight to get the entire team an endorsement deal with Nike, she was so-called being selfish.

"And if you need someone to help you celebrate this, your boyfriend is right over there." Korin uttered, pulling her roommate out of her thoughts.

With her gaze immediately landing on a certain baseball player, on the other side of the common room, Devyn watched as he currently paced in front of the two vending machines—which speaking into his phone.

As a small smile stretched out on her face at the sight of her friend—that smile quickly disappeared a second later once she realized what Korin had said. "He's not my boyfriend."

"Could've fooled me." Korin replied. After returning to their shared dorm room this morning, after spending the previous night by elsewhere, Korin was met with a scene that had her call the two freshmen a couple.

"We feel asleep." The freshman sprinter stressed. Since this morning, she has been trying to explain to her friend that the scene that she walked in on this morning was absolutely nothing. "How many times to I have to tell you? Nothing happened."

With her turning to look at her friend, Korin squinted her eyes softly at the shorter girl. "Dev, you're telling me that you and that fine specimen over there," with her lightly motioning towards Damon. "did absolutely nothing?"

"Nothing." Devyn replied, honestly.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Korin questioned almost immediately as her hand came in contact with Devyn's shoulder, smacking her teammate. "That man is fine as hell, and you didn't sleep with him?"

"Oh my—we're friends, Korin. Just friends." The eighteen-year-old said.

"You can't just be friends with a guy that looks like that." Was all Korin uttered in her direction before she turned on the heels of her Nike trainers, and left the shorter girl standing in front of the elevator.
